For Shadow Magic Sorcerer, does summoning a Hound of Ill Omen count as casting a spell?
Hound of Ill Omen
At 6th level, you gain the ability to call forth a howling creature of darkness to harass your foes. As a bonus action, you can spend 3 sorcery points to magically summon a hound of ill omen to target one creature you can see within 120 feet of you.
It doesn't actually say it's casting a spell like some other subclass abilities. I ask this because level 2 Invisibility states:
The spell ends for a target that attacks or casts a spell.
Instead of playing a blaster I like the idea of turning invisible and summoning hounds as bonus actions.
This isn't casting a spell. So yes, you can summon it while invisible. But you can summon only one, and I believe it's one per long rest. Or short. Or maybe I'm wrong.

I don't think there is any amount of hounds you can summon, but you can only summon one per turn (You only have one bonus action), and it costs a decent amount of sorcery points.
Plus, you can't change it's target, so once that target is dead, the hound is gone. But you could technically summon multiple hounds on one person.

I think it's pretty awesome, it's the same cost as a 2nd level spell slot. and you are getting a 40hp dire wolf that can track someone even if they are hidden or invisible, pack tactics and gives the opponent disadvantage on spell saving throws. Much better than a lot of 2nd level spells I think.
But it dies quickly. As soon as the target is dead, so is the hound. And you're probably going to focus on the target if the hound, thanks to the bonuses.

When the DM smiles, it is already to late.
This is a class ability, not an attack or spell. So to answer your question, yes, you can use Hound of Ill Omen while invisible.
