So, I'm working on a drow aberrant mind sorcerer, who was captured by Mindflayers, and implanted with a tadpole, which is the source of their power. They also came from a different world then the one the campaign takes place in (different crystal sphere)
However, what I need to know before making them is: how would they survive a tadpole implantation, and would Mindflayers kidnap people from other crystal spheres? Also, how would I escape? I was thinking Gith attack in the pligistin (or however it's spelled)
It says it right in the description of that variety of aberrant mind sorcerer "You were implanted with a mind flayer tadpole, but the ceremorphosis never completed. And now its psionic power is yours. When you use it, your flesh shines with a strange mucus." There's no "why" beyond that, your character is an outlier where the implantation just didn't take, yet somehow the psychic power is yours. It's weird, but the word aberrant can mean weird. Or not that weird if you put an analogy between implantation and the fact that in regular living creatures, miscarriages happen. Doesn't have to be any more special than that. Just a fluke.
How Mindflayers conduct themselves whether between crystal sphere or not, that's up to your DM, so consult there for something that would work for your game as far as the "other world" stuff; and if it doesn't fly, maybe not another world, but another continent or maybe there are worlds within the sphere. How would you escape? Mindflyer ships crash, that's a simple way.

Edit: The character is complete. Thanks.
Depends on the kind of tadpole. What kind of tadpole is it?
