The scrolls are created around -30,000 DR in Oreme by the Sarrukh of the Ba’etith. They next appear in lore in -3533 DR when they are found by the netherese and taken by them from the ruins of Aryvandaar (the High Forest). Now lore says that the Aryvandaarians never touched or used the scrolls but I wonder…. We now know the Terraseer is one of the Sarrukh who created the scrolls and he is still around and “living” in Oreme. It would not surprise me at all if he had a third set tucked away down there. But of more interest to me is how 2 full copies got into the hands of the Aryvandaarians, and when? They seem to have been fairly peaceful from -23,500 DR until the Vyshanteans took power in about -14,700 DR. But they then go on a magical war spree (the crown wars) and I have great difficulty believing that if they had the scrolls they didn’t find a way to use them. Especially since their hidden patron was Malkazid. We know from Windsong tower that they can be altered into a form making them more accessible for elves but the Fey’ri like Vyshanteans may not have needed that. I can accept that when the crown wars end in -9000 DR the elves either knowingly or unknowingly leave the scrolls behind when they shut down the Vyshanteans empire and allow the forest to return and restore itself for an age. The High Forest has been pretty much a no travel zone since then.
Any thoughts?
