Inquiry about Barovia

I'm close to finishing Curse of Strahd with two groups, but I'd like to return to the Domain of Dread for an expanded adventure that includes many of the locations that appear in the novels and previous editions. I'm planning to use this beautiful map made by sean-the-seap from Reddit, but because finding the novels and old adventures is nigh impossible in my country, I wanted to ask those who are more familiar with the old lore for ideas that fit those locations. I don't necessarily need quest ideas, but more little nuggets of lore and events that you know about that could inspire me to create a few additional quests for the 5e adventure.

I don't know the lore, but the adventures and sourcebooks are available on DriveThruRPG.com. 

I'm unaware of a legit source for the novels, but the sourcebooks are probably more useful anyway.
