Haven’t been on here in a while, but I’ve been wondering? I’m going to write a new character who happens to be a noblewoman shapeshifter elf between the ages of 12 - 14. Her parents? Went off for parts unknown and were like “You’re on your own, kid.” She currently lives in the castle with my character Clef, but here’s where I’m really stuck: How do I write from the point of view of a character who lives with partial blindness in both eyes? She can’t see shapes at all, and can see dim light and a very limited range of colors, but relies on other senses to “see” and navigate her surroundings but that’s pretty much it. Though she was born like this. Any tips? Preferably from those who have experienced vision impairments/vision loss that can’t be fixed by corrective lenses

This is pretty helpful, but also just talk to some of your friends who are visually impaired and ask them :>
