Hi there... I recently started playing a Tabaxi Monk and found creating the class and backstory a tad daunting. I looked for homebrew resources regarding Maztica and its return to Toril after the Spellplague and read that some Tabaxi clans were around the Sword Coast and Chult, but cannot find any canon lore about Maztica. Even the new Forgotten Realms books do not mention the continent at all.
Are there any good homebrew works to look at? And are there any plans for a future supplement to address this land?
Look to Chult as the homeland of the Tabaxi in the Forgotten Realms. Matztika was really its own setting tagged onto the Forgotten Realms. Beyond being the mystical origin continent of both human and cat-folk Tabaxi Tribes it is really not relevant for those peoples anymore. If you really want it in your campaign look up the original 2e sourcebooks for the lore. I really doubt we will see this come back.
Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.
The big problem w/Maztica is that it's not respectfully written, nor is it as accurate as it could be, regarding Central American cultures pre-Conquistadors & Columbus.

Greetings Orthae11272,
I too am playing a Tabaxi and wanted a bit more info on Mazitca, so I made a similar post recently that you can find here:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/story-lore/227293-information-on-mazitca
One thing that gave me a LOT of info was the recommendation to find the MZC1 Maztica Campaign Guide:

Cheers!
