As the Shadowfell is a sort of "dark reflection" of the Prime Material Plane (such as Neverwinter and Evernight), I'm trying to think of some cool locations in Faerûn and how they would be mirrored in the Shadowfell. (This line of thinking coming about as I'm trying to orient a Shadar-Kai Death Cleric of the Raven Queen somewhere in-universe that isn't right outside the Fortress of Memories). I do wonder what the Shadowfell versions of notable locales like Silverymoon, Baldur's Gate, and Waterdeep would be like. Thoughts?
Like you said, you’re the DM so it’s up to you to decide on the specifics. I’ve found the looking for specific answers that are “correct” on these topics is a lost caused and really you should use the information to inform what’s right in your world
That being said; I like the idea of construction on the material world translating as a compulsion of creatures in the SF and FW to construct something on their end too, that’s how I would implement it

I was moreso creating a character for use in future oneshots, I'm not always the DM. Regardless, I managed to place the Shadar-Kai Death Cleric in the Shadowfell's reflection of Silverymoon, having the Seldarine temple of Everdusk Hall have a reflected temple of the Raven Queen called Evergloam Hall. The fact that Everdusk Hall was mysteriously burned down gave me an adventure hook for the character, as the destruction of the Material Plane's version of the temple might have caused an identically mysterious disaster to befall the Shadowfell version.
That aside, I'm curious as to what other folks think the Shadowfell reflections of Prime Material locations would be like. Evernight is a far cry from Neverwinter, being a rotting necropolis overseen by necromancers and the undead, though Mount Hotenow's eruption occurred on both planes.
