Hanging out in the Singed Bolt a middle class Tavern in the Trade ward, Our party was settling a debt and drinking when a young concerned looking man approached them wearing Nobles finery.
He introduced himself as Pallin Talmost, The Heir to the Noble House Talmost and he needed discreet assistance. Agreeing to meet him in the large stables outside. Pallin explained how he was in Love with a red haired girl named Ava who worked at the gentle rest inn , and she had gone missing, he believed she would not leave as he promised to marry her once his father had passed and he took over their house( His father doesn't approve of falling in love with bar wenches). All Pallin knows is that the stable boy, Alan, said some rough sailor types came by and said Ava would never return as she was going to wed in Ten towns far to the north.
Tongue "persuaded" Pallin into paying a portion of the 500 gold pieces offered up front and the adventurers set on their way in the morning.
In the morning the party awoke from their various sleeping quarters ( mostly in the stables) and headed over to the gentle rest Inn. In the wee hours of the morning they found young Alan tending the horses, and smoking at far to young of an age.
Alan was a young boy not more than 16 and still needed time to grow into being a man. For a few coins from Wayrith, Alan let the party now that the men that came by were sailor types one of them had a tattoo on his forearm of a crying pig with an anchor tied to it's tail., for a little extra coin he also divulged he had heard Pallin say that his father was a masked lord, and it be best not to Cross the Talmost family. ( especially the Heir)
With little to go on the party headed for the docks , Amazingly Tongue remembered passing a ship with a symbol such as the Tattoo and Amaris thought quickly to check the Dock warden's Ship manifests for something similar.
They quickly agreed that the ship called the Weighted Pig from Moonshae was the most likely Culprit.
Heading to the docks they tried to play it cool but quickly Toungue was the victim of rat catching insults, he tried to parlay and learned that the hairy chested man standing atop the boat was the Captain and it be best they speak to him for any information.
As the party approached the Captain was not Subtle about his gaze on Amaris. A quick parlay and discussion over catching rats had most of the party head below decks while he spoke alone with the beautiful and obvious leader * Amaris*( or the captain was wanting her to be) . Only Trog the Goliath went back to the docks to kick his feet in the water.
Below decks our party's first combat was a little less glory filled than expected. Goretooth refused to kill rats, it was below him. Wayrith managed to stomp one dead but soiled his boot and Tongue missed completely and blasted open a crate of furs with eldritch power.
Above Amaris learned that Captain Galvin was a sailor from the Moonshae isles and that his ship was an honest one, over a drink he explained how they are not into piracy or slavery for that matter and deal mostly in furs and Iron. As Amaris gave the details , Captain Gal stopped his foolish advances and remembered that 2 of his sailors have gone missing . Doba and Fisk haven't returned in several days and they do have a bit of a problem when it comes to substances. Some other crew members said they had headed to Downshadow to procure some of the finer herbs not readily available in legal shops. It wasn't like them to be gone for so long , and they will be out of a job if they don't return soon.
Amaris left gracefully placating the captain, the Rat slayers returned with their might kill and they regrouped.
With a disguise kit of the dirt off his own clothes Goretooth helped scuff up and sully the look of Wayrith Dauntinghorn and they made themselves look less visible for the trip into the Downshadow.
A massive crevice in the side of mount Waterdeep would provide access. A shanty village of hastily put together shops and the kind of ruffians you would expect mixed in with the downtrodden and less accepted immigrants of the city, surrounded them as they headed further into the Crevice, soon the natural light was weak and only those with Darkvision could see clearly. The Air was tense, Tongue noticed in the Shadows a man in a cloak of eyes glaring at the party who were obviously not from around the area as Amaris had cast light on her mace to see better( turning the party into a beacon of tourists for all to see)
Goretooth asked a Derro selling shrunken heads if he knew of the sailors but it did not work out in the best of ways.
Firelight from torches around and the occasional dimly lit shop, distant skirmishes and the occasional scream told them that it was not going to be an easy task to find two sailors in this sea of lost souls.....
Session 1 The DownShadow & Angelic Voices
While standing about wondering where to go next the party is approached by a surly looking dwarf with an eye-patch and a well used Crossbow,. Beside him a rather vacant looking Human with a baby face and a nice looking loot smiles strangely at the group. The dwarf introduces himself as Two-eyes, A helper of people new to down shadow and offers to assist them in staying safe and finding what they are looking for.
Despite some skepticism, The party tells their tale and for a few coin learn that any one looking for the "goodstuff" in the dark of the downshadow would be off and hunting at Pila's Puffery . ( the most well known den of Illicit substances that one can afford.)
The wander behind the Dwarf and engage with Lucas, the angelic looking boy who is being helped by two eyes too. His Teacher disappeared a few days ago and he has been playing songs in a small tavern called Batari's Brew in the down shadow while Two-eyes helps him find his teacher.
Heading off to PIla's they come to a large structure with smoke pouring from various windows , old cloth with runes painted on it are the only door to this shop and the smell of every drug known to man fills their nostrils as they get closer.
Meeting Pila, A leopard print Tabaxi with a kitty meth habit and apparently in heat she is reluctant to give any information, After Tongue helps her with her heat problem , she lets the party know that she does remember the sailors and actually set up an appointment for them to meet a man by the name of Valos. Valos sell potions of memory, a strange product that apparently when you drink it you gain the memory infused in the potion.
They convince Pila to set up a meeting for them which wall take a few hours , she says they only ever meet at a location known as the black stair , she gives them a map of how to get there but it is about as accurate as a crack addicted kitty can be. Luckily, Two eyes knows of the Black Stair, one of the old abandoned warehouses where gangs meet to settle disputes and also one of the few staircases that lead further down into Undermountain.
They quickly scout the location and settle back for a drink and wait at Batari's brew. Here they met Pox an angry Duegar dwarf with soft side for a good tune. Wayrith convinces Two eyes to be honest with Lucas and helps get the second round of drinks paid for and then they are off to their meeting with this Valos.
Heading back to the black stair they enter the large room dimly lit, the large staircase behind an imposing looking muscled human in a trench coat with out sleeves, He introduces himself as Valos and quickly get angry as the party shows their intent to ask questions rather than buy his potions of memory.
The Paladin stands firm and combat begins.
from the side doors the very two sailors they were looking for and another large looking scoundrel with a club burst out and Join Valos in attacking the Party, As they get close the sailors appear to be glossy eyed as if under some kind of enchantment, and when Tongue sticks one with his dagger the sailor ( Doba) doesn't even wince and the blood gushing from a major artery.
WIth Valiant music from Lucas the party begins to overwhelm their assailants , Valos retreats and yells for help in under common, Wayrith Pursues. From the stairs below a 7 foot tall cloaked figure emerges and 4 purple tentacles rise up and a blast of psychic force assails the whole party. The first blast knocks everyone unconscious except for Goretooth the half orc wizard, He attempts to Parlay but a second blast brings him low despite his Half orc heritage.
The party awakens restrained with sacks on their heads only able to see each others feet. Voices in undercommon can be heard chatting. A slick sounding voice appears in all of there heads and tells them that they will be sold into slavery in the Underdark , except for one . With that they all see a chunk of a dwarven skull roll by their feet and blood begins to pool around Where two eyes' boots can be seen.
The Voice appears to leave after people catch a glimpse of his purple webbed feet and Valos barks orders at the Others in the room to guard the black stair until they can return with the slavers.
Seemingly stuck the party finds themselves alone in the room( this is verified by Tongue removing his headsack with his tail). Using claws and sleight of hand they break free of the bonds and quickly gather their equipment from an open chest in the corner. Also in the chest they find the Lute of Lucas' mentor and a set of Keys with the letter GRI emoboosed onto a leather strap attached.
Despite Warning Goretooth opens the doors to the room and again a combat ensues , The large bandit and 2 sailors pounce back to attack but are overwhelmed by the force and the wit of the party. Lucas uses magic to make himself appear like Valos and the sailors although under the effects of mind control believe that he is in charge and follow commands as if he is their leader.
The adventurers opt to leave this place with a brainless two eyes corpse and two enchanted sailors. they travel back up the stairs to Baltari's Brew in hopes of getting some assistance but Pox is still an Angry duegar who could care less for two eyes and what happened to him .
Suddenly the ground begins to shake and outside large section of earth are falling from the sky in places and crushes the shanty's built around them. A massive tremor hits for several minutes and beams of light begin to appear, looking up they can see right into Waterdeep and panic and destruction is all around them.
Stopping to help where they can they make their way back to the surface, it is here that they realize they lost Trog the Goliath quite some time ago and he is somewhere in the Downshadow and that the GRI could be a key set to the Gentle rest inn.
The danger continues for the day but they drop off the body of Two eyes to be buried, they take the sailors to the house of the moon and the High priestess Naeretha breaks the enchantment.
The sailors return to the Weighted pig earning the party a reward and free passage from Captain Galvin Thar if they ever need a trip to the Moonshaes or Chuult.
They call for Palin Talmost who comes quickly, is heartbroken and vengeful. He pays the remaining 400 gold and agrees to be their ally and work with them to stop this Memory potion racket, he will share whatever information he can find with his resources.
The church of Selune requires Amaris to assist and help the city.
While helping on the streets they overhear that the sinkholes shouldn't happen unless something is wrong with an ancient Mythal that protects the city something called the Melairshield. ( an ancient elven power long before Waterdeep existed. ) the city however is already rebuilding itself from the massive quake.
Session 2 The Hunt for Trog
Enjoying a meal of fine stew at the gentle rest Inn, the party gathers after a couple days of arduous labour repairing the sink holes and helping the wounded in the city proper.
It has been a 3 day since Trog was seen, despite his size he has not returned from the DownShadow.
Lucas has landed a gig at the yawning portal with another eccentric bard known as 3 strings and has been gone the last day to practice, the bright eyed youth happy and jovial despite the chaos happening in the city.
Amaris overheard beyond the wounded from the sinkholes, there has also been a strange sickness affecting many people coming up form the Down shadow, Veins turn blue and advanced symptoms beyond a fever is that the infected don’t seem to be able to ingest water.
While dining the City watch places a curfew and escorts out a man with a fever and visible blue veins. - The Curfew deters the party form heading out that night but they all agree top meet at the South Gate in the morning.
Amaris heads back to the house of the Moon and gains an audience with Naneatha Sauril, the High priestess of Selune. She learns that a quarantine is in effect. No one can leave the DownShadow or the warrens, Most of the sick are coming from below. The Plague seems to be magical in nature and the clerics of the city can do little but ease the pain while they watch the infected die. It appears to spread by touch. When Amaris tells Naneatha of her plan to go down below, The High priestess warns against it. Amaris Persists that they must save their friend so Naneatha tasks her with looking for the source of this magical disease and gives her a note to get past the quarantine and 5 amulets of protection from disease.
In the morning the adventurers meet up at the south gate, Travelling down a strangely empty path to the cavern entrance of the downshadow. A barricade has been set up and over 40 members of the city watch and some watch wizards man the post, crossbows aimed at the dark of the entrance of the down shadow. They speak with Sword Captain Arlun Kalensheer, A gruff human in his mid forties who carries 2 longswords. Showing the note he says they can pass but without some sign of a miracle cure he will not be able to let them exit. Despite the warning the heroes pressed on.
Entering the down shadow the once busy streets are empty, most light is but barely a flicker in the distance. The occasional muffled cough from shuttered windows can be heard but the area is virtually deserted.
Goretooth releases a strange owl to the cavern ceiling and they make their way first to Batari’s brew the tavern they remember visiting. Inside Batari’s a grizzly scene of death, several members sporting Zhenatarim Tattoos are dead with their eyes stabbed out. Pox the Duergar Bartender is ripped open from the gut and lay on his counter, all of them showing bulbous blue veins on their bodies. Nothing but death and an old smelly dog blanket in the back room. They continue with some suspect that the zhentarim were killed by members of the Xanathar’s guild.
The next stop is to Pila’s puffery, the door is barred and Tongue opted to wait outside to avoid further relations with the older Tabaxi of less virtue. She lets them in , avoiding straight on eye contact thru a haze of smoke that she says is keeping her safe from this plague. She is not sure what is happening nor has she seen their friend Trog but she does say a poison concocted from a plant of her homeland( a yellow flower) has similar effects , it is known as Jergel's Kiss and kills the victim quickly turning their veins blue. She believes the infection started in the northernmost part of the downshadow, closer to unknown entrances to undermountain.
Walking onward they run into a weiner dog being chased by rats, saving the dog from a terrible fate, they befriend it only to realize that a vein on it’s nose is blue and it is afflicted the same as many other unlucky residents of the slums.
The party continues to the north side of Downshadow, walking thru close built shanties, they see Trog, he lays in the street viens pushed out in blue his hands still clasped around a small dark robed human. A dozen corpses with symbols of the Xanathar guild surround him, his bodies covered in many wounds. The priest wears a strange symbol of a skull with a scroll in his mouth, a quick reflection reveals it to be the holy Symbol of Jergal, the previously known lord of death, now but a distant memory to most. The bodies lay outside a ransacked bookstore it appears that the fight may have started inside.
Heading in bookstore, it is ransacked but that doesn't stop them from finding a secret door behind one of the bookshelves. This leads down a hallway with a few corpses to an old wooden door. Opening the door they enter a large room with a couple more exits. Many small stone pillars have actual human skulls with scrolls of parchment in their mouths and inkwell built into their heads, all of the skulls are lit up and when they enter the skulls all turn and look at the intruders.
Suddenly the corpses on the floor and the ones in the hall rise up and the party is surrounded by Zombies. The combined power of the party quickly dispatches the undead with aid from Amaris using the Power of Selune to strike fear into the abominations.
Entering the western door they find a small bed chamber, inside is several robes and holy symbols of Jergal, a chest with some gold and a few onyx gems, and a key to another door. Most importantly is a journal of a man named Venture Fade, written in undercommon , tongue uses his powers to read the unknown words and discovers that Venture fade has all the steps to a powerful ritual to spread a plague of death upon the citizens of waterdeep.
“ An innocent soul must be flayed ritually and heart removed. Once removed and blessed by Jergal the heart is placed in an incense burner and lit. this will release a gas of death that will turn the person's mind into a desert, they will no longer be able to drink and will pass the same affliction by touch. The only way to stop this curse is to destroy the innocent’s still beating heart .”
Using the key, they unlock the western door, down a staircase they come into a room with several cultists in back robes. Despite their clever disguise tactic of putting on the robes and holy Symbols, Venture Fade and his Death cult see thru their guise and attack the party.
A hard fought battle, Tongue fell to powerful dark magic, saved only by Amaris healing spirit. Alas in the end the heroes brought an end to Venture Fade, capturing 2 of the cultists in the process.
Searching the room, the altar had a tiny baby with it’s ribs opened up, heart removed. Nearby they heart a tiny heartbeat coming from an incense holder.
Opening the unholy container , a still beating heart surrounded by black ash thumped along rhythmically.
Tongue wasted no time in piercing the heart with his dagger, a concussive blast of force shot him back across the room like a cat being kicked off a bed, but his strike was true and the plague had been broken. A quick check of the weiner dog confirms this.
Taking the captured cultists topside the gave them to Sword Captain Kalensheer who tells them word has already come that those afflicted are in full recovery , fevers broken , veins normal he is certain whatever they did worked and they should consider themselves heroes.
Resting for the night they awaken to many gifts, baked breads,, roughly 90 gp worth of coin and many thank you notes, many of these from the Warrens where the halflings and gnomes live. They have become overnight heroes , Naneatha recovers her amulets and thanks Amaris for her bravery.
The next morning over breakfast, as they all go to sit. A rotund man in a floppy hat sporting a ridiculously big mustache enters and says “ Ah the saviors of the down shadow! Well met ! My Name is Volo, and we need to talk “........
Group 2 Session 3 -Dragon Heist
Weyrith had gone out with his retainers to see if he could secure some more permanent lodging, Waterdeep was a city that needed a fellow like him he figured.
Lucas was becoming quite the hit at the Yawning Portal, he even has his own gig once every ten day.
Meanwhile after being showered if gifts and money from locals for saving the Warrens and the DownShadow from a nefarious Plague, The party found themselves sitting at a table for breakfast with a rather important character.
Volo, The Volo that everyone either loves or hates came with a tale of woe asking for their assistance.
It appeared Volo was drinking with his friend Floon Blagmaar at the Skeward dragon Tavern in Dock ward, and Floon never made it home. Floon is a ginger haired Noble who works as an escort and seems to do quite well for himself, More looks than brains however.
Volo promised a decent sum of money if the new heroes would assist him in finding his good friend.
Amaris,Goretooth and Tongue set of to the Dock ward looking for the Shanty Tavern.
Eventually they found the Skewered Dragon, The Poorest sort of tavern that catered to those that didn’t mind the windows missing or the Anchor that was smashed in thru the roof.
After a hefty some of coin was given over to chuck the Bartender, they learned that 2 red haired noblemen were sitting playing 3 dragon ante for several hours and were followed out by some fellas who are known Zhentarim. The Zhents have a warehouse on Candle Lane.
Goretooth summoned up his Owl named Bird and the Trio headed out( as did Chuck the Bartender as he was given more than enough to go find a new Job elsewhere after spilling some info on the largest criminal organization known to Toril.)
They found Candle Lane and a 2 story warehouse with the windows painted . The alley was close enough that it seemed as dark as any dungeon and smelled like one too.
After some elaborate thinking of how to cover the peephole on the door their plan of subterfuge went to shit when they decided to speak loudly outside the door. ( they noticed the light underneath the door go out.
With an epic Kick they booted the door , well a few times actually to no avail. Not quite the heroes people kept saying they were, the resorted to picking the lock.
Inside were a dozen corpses of Zhentarim agents,.From the Shadows 4 Kenku attacked, and were swiftly defeated by our heroes.
One they kept for questioning who gave only mimicked bits of information back to them.
“Xanathar sends his regards
And follow the yellow markings in the sewers” seemed to be important.
They found a Ginger man tied up in the back room who turned out to be Renaer Neverember, the bastard son of the last open lord of Waterdeep.
It appears Floon was taken as a case of mistaken Identity as they are both ginger haired Nobleman( Floon the bit better looking)
Renear had this to say
“The Zhentarim thinks that my father embezzled a large amount of gold while he was Open Lord, and that he hid the dragons somewhere in the city. They think they can find it by using an artifact called the Stone of Golorr, which was in the hands of the Xanathar Guild until recently. Apparently, someone stole it. The Zhents thought I knew something about all of this, but I don’t. My father and I haven’t spoken in years.”
The Watch arrived and detained everyone, Captain Staget from the Dock ward warned them about getting involved, but once out of earshot Renear and the heroes thought adamant to finish the work for Volo, but first they needed to find Weyrith, after all Goretooth loves it when Weyrith gets a little dirty….
Group 2 Session 4- Why do Brooms Float ?
Rushing to Find Weyrith The party filled him in on the days events, Tongue had went off on his own direction to find Weyrith but something must of waylaid him.
Amaris, Goretooth and Weyrith, Along with their new noble ally Renaer headed back to Candle Lane. After a bit of searching they found a sewer grate that looked like it had been moved recently, they decided to descend into the sewer..
A putrid stream flows along this sewer tunnel, which leads in two directions. In one direction, they saw a tiny symbol drawn on the wall in yellow chalk: a palm-sized circle with ten equidistant spokes radiating out from its circumference.
Following the symbols , Goretooth led the way with his darkvision while the humans stayed within the protection of Weyrith’s shield with light cast upon it. Searching through the muck and mire they followed the symbols until ahead Goretooth saw a floating broom, slowly moving towards them. Weyrith moved closer with his light to discover the broom was not floating at all but was in fact lodged inside the center of a gelatinous Cube. The party quickly tried to get away hurling spells and running but they became cornered and Weyrith was brave to guard them. As bravery is often rewarded he was quickley enveloped by the cube while everyone else through all they had at the abomination.
Luckily Weyrith was strong enough to pull himself out and Goretooth blasted apart the creature with missiles of force. A strangeley clean shield was left at the base of the beast.
after an hour of following signs through the tunnels, they came to a three-way intersection where a ladder leads up into a stone shaft capped by a circular metal cover. One of the familiar chalk symbols is marked on a wall nearby, and floating near the symbol is a spherical, grapefruit-sized creature with a bulging central eye and four stumpy eyestalks. It was baring its teeth and charged headlong into Weyrith biting at him with tiny teeth and showering him with a ray of cold from one of it’s tiny eyestalks . Renaer lept to the front and pierced the tiny Gazers face ending the battle before it began.
Not long after, the main sewer tunnel expanded into a circular hub with a pair of arrow slits carved into its outer walls, directly across from each other. Two passages continue on to the north and south. A stone door is set into the back wall of a stone ledge to the west. Goretooth could hear goblins snoring. He went all 1980’s arnold Predator and tried to hide as his noises woke one up. They attempted stealth and failed against the goblins who began raining down arrows on the party while they stumbled in the darkness, Amaris kicked in some light and Weyrith stumbled into a secret lever to open the stone door they could now see.
They had found the entrance to the Xanathar’s secret safehouse.
Coming inside the Goblin who broke his bow shooting at them ambushed Weyrith from behind. The first few chambers were empty besides some threadbare clothing and some old rusty weapons.
The third chamber led to some sleeping mats and beyond the next door they could hear a Human and an obvious dwarven voice arguing over shoving a towel underneath a door.
Weyrith wasted no time and burst open the door asking for the bandits surrender. In front of him stand a bald human with many eyes tattooed on his head, he had no intention of surrendering, behind him a darkskin dwarf pressed up against another door wielding a huge warpick.
The party dispatched of the Human bandit quickly but the dwarf seemed to grow to twice his size and proved to be a formidable foe. Goretooth braved the dwarf with a spell of deflection upon him. The dwarf turned invisible and managed to smash Goretooth Keenley but was brought low by the adventurers combined efforts.
Weyrith pulled open the blocked door to help and was accosted by a Gray Acidic ooze that had risen up from a cesspit in the floor.
The Ooze defeated they continued down the only passage available, ahead they heard the whimpers of a man crying out in despair below the loud growls of an Orc.
Weyrith rushed ahead and up some short stairs ,
Threadbare curtains hang on the east wall of a long hall, in the middle of which a muscular half-orc in dingy robes stands with his foot on the chest of a male human with wavy red-blond hair. Fire burns around the orc’s clenched fist, and his victim cries and squirms helplessly beneath him.
Seated on a raised platform to the south is a nightmarish figure wearing black robes. It has large white eyes and rubbery purple skin, with four tentacles encircling its inhuman mouth. It cradles and gently caresses what looks like a disembodied brain with feet.
The tentacled creature cried out inside Weyrith’s mind “ You Again! “ , The mind flayer dropped his pet brain and headed into the other room. The Orc Wizard and the Intellect devourer rushed to attack our heroes. Weyrith pushed through the Wizard and attacked the walking brain but a Psychic blast brought him Low, Goretooth engaged his evil twin and Amaris Brought in the powers of Selune to heal the party back up. Renaer Jumped in and slew the walking brain before it could attack another and Weyrith got up and ended the existence of orc Wizard with his confiscated warpick.
Chasing the mind flayer Weyrith continued into the next room while Goretooth looted the room, gathering the spellbook and a small chest of coin.
Amaris and Renaer tended to Floon.
In the the middle of this otherwise empty room is a stone pillar carved with a small symbol: a perfect circle with ten equidistant spokes radiating outward from its circumference. In the middle of this circle is a smaller circular indentation that bears a passing resemblance to a lidless eye.
With Floon in Tow they found a secret door that led into basement of Milo Peabody a halfling that brews beer which was all ruined as they stomped through the no longer unknown passage. He swore to close it off and let them pass through his house on to fish gut Alley.
Renaer took Floon and said he would meet them and Volo at the Yawning portal with in an hour.
After quickley cleaning up the Party met with Volo, Floon and renaer.
Volo thanked the graciously but admitted to them
“ “I confess that I have but few coins to spare. But never let it be said that Volo reneges on a promise. Allow me to present something much more valuable.” He holds out a scroll tube. “The deed to a remarkable property here in Waterdeep! We’ll need a magistrate to witness the transfer of ownership. I’ll arrange a meeting with one after you’ve inspected the estate and deemed it satisfactory.”
The tube contains a deed to Trollskull Manor, a historic building in the North Ward ‘
Volo mentioned it may be haunted, Goretooth seemed a little to happy about this.
Volo, Floon, and Renaer all express their gratitude through camaraderie. If the characters need to call upon their new friends for an occasional favor, any of them are happy to oblige. Floon has little to offer the characters, but friendship with Volo and Renaer has its perks.
Volo knows the best places to eat and find merriment. He can also give characters a tour of Waterdeep. Although Renaer is estranged from his rich and powerful father, he still has friends in high places, including Harpers who can come to the characters’ rescue if they need it. If the characters are looking for an audience with influential persons in Waterdeep, Renaer can set up meetings at their request.
Now they just have to Find Tongue and tell him the good news !
Amaris journal – Session 5
Volo gave us the deed to a house in payment for finding Floon! I can’t believe it! A house! I’ve never owned more than the clothes on my back and the mace at my belt!
We found Lucas at the Yawning Portal and filled him in on what we’ve been up to the past few days. He’s finished with his current gig and can come and hang out with us again. He still hasn’t heard anything from Johan and I’m starting to lose hope that we’ll be able to find him in good health. I haven’t totally given up though. You never know.
After a good night’s sleep at the Gentle Rest we went off to the Magistrate’s office to deal with the paperwork for Trollskull Manor. Thank goodness Weyrith knows a little bit about property ownership because I certainly wouldn’t know what to do about it. We had to wait quite a while but Lucas played some really pretty music on his lute. I sure do enjoy it when he plays. We decided we’d put all our names on the deed and add Tongue when he turns up again since he wasn’t there to sign for it. Hopefully he hasn’t gotten into any trouble, wherever he is.
We made our way across the city to the North Ward and Trollskull Alley. The neighbourhood is a lot fancier than the Dock Ward, that’s for sure. The house looks huge from the outside but man… it’s a dump! The windows are all boarded up and it looks like it’s been abandoned for a long time. The front door wasn’t even closed when we got there. There are a LOT of pigeons roosting on the roof! It looks like the main room inside the front entrance was converted into some kind of taproom or tavern. There are some old casks of wine and some broken tables and chairs. Not much else though besides lots of dust and old rat poop. There’s even a big leak in the roof. It’s going to take a lot of work to make this house into some place we’d actually want to live. I’ve slept in a lot of questionable places but even I don’t want to stay here until it’s been cleaned up a bit. Weyrith thinks it’s going to take quite a bit of money to clean it up but I bet a little elbow grease will go a long way. Lucas used some of his magic to patch the roof up a bit but I’m not sure it’s going to hold it for long if it rains again.
While we were talking about where to start with repairs we had our first visitor. An older Halfling man with bushy eyebrows knocked on the door and introduced himself as Broxley Fairkettle. He’s a representative of the fellowship of Innkeepers and seemed to think he could help us get this place back in tip-top shape if we want to open it as a tavern again. He told us about the former owner of the Manor, an Elf named Liff, who ran it as a tavern and welcomed all sorts. I think I’d like to do the same. I’ve seen the way some people look at Goretooth when we’re out in the City and I don’t like it all that much. If I was him I’d like to know there was somewhere I was welcome. He also mentioned a man named Froon who is opening a tavern around the corner. He didn’t seem to have a very good opinion of Mr Froon, I think because Mr Froom doesn’t want to be part of the Innkeepers Guild. The guilds are really important in the city and they really don’t like it when you try to bypass them. I gave Mr Fairkettle the gold for the first month’s dues for the Guild and filled out the paperwork to get us started. It feels good to know we’re going to contribute something back to the neighbourhood! Mr Fairkettle said he’d be back in the morning with some contacts for repairs and we said goodnight to him.
Goretooth had Weyrith break the lock on the trap door into the basement and went down to explore. It seemed quite dank down there but think he’ll be more comfortable with rooms down there rather than on the upper floors with the rest of us. Both Weyrith and I had an odd sense about the house and based on Volo’s comments that it might be haunted we used our connections to the Gods to see if we could figure out if he was right. I got an odd sense from Lucas but I’m not sure what it was. I was sensing both dark and light at the same time when it seemed to blast out. It knocked me right off my feet into one of the broken tables and broke my connection with Selune. Weyrith said he sensed the darkness too, but not the light oddly, and saw the darkness shoot up towards the roof. Weyrith, Lucas and I followed it up all the way into the parapet and Oh My God! We have a view! I’ve never seen the city from that height and it was so beautiful!
We were still enjoying the view, having forgotten all about the dark presence when we heard Goretooth yelling from the basement. We ran down to see if he was in trouble and found him standing in the middle of the basement with the bones from his robes scattered on the floor all around him. Weyrith said they spelled out words in elvish, GET OUT. Whatever it was that had pulled all the bones off his robes seemed to be gone though. I wonder if Liff, the Elf that used to own the place, wasn’t happy that we were there. I tried to tell him that we wanted to fix the place up and turn into a nice place like he used to run. I don’t know if he heard me but it was worth a try I guess.
Goretooth used his handy-dandy sleep magic to take care of some of the pigeons and we left him with them and went to get some dinner. We found a great Fish & Chips street vendor nearby and I’m looking forward to eating there more often! Weyrith was tired and didn’t want to go back to pick up Goretooth so he went back to the Gentle Rest and Lucas and I headed back to Trollskull Manor. Just as we were walking up to the front door we were flagged down by a balding guy in a leather vest with some lame tattoos. He introduced himself as Emmick and said he was opening a tavern nearby. I assume he’s the Mr Froon that Mr Fairkettle told us about. He told us that Trollskull Manor is haunted and that a Hag used to cook children there. I think he was just trying to scare us off. He was really full of himself and I didn’t like him much at all. I’ve met braggarts like him before and I think I let him get under my skin. He didn’t think we’d be able to get any customers and I got Lucas to sing a bit to show him we wouldn’t have any trouble getting people in the doors. I’ve never seen anyone sing like Lucas can. We won’t have any trouble at all once they hear him. Emmick wanted to make a wager that he could bring in more customers than we could. I’m sure we can! So sure that I wagered 100g on it! We’ve got 2 ten days to get this place in shape. I’m not worried at all. We can do it! Lucas and I collected Goretooth, and it’s a good thing we did come back for him, he made a bigger mess of the place, and headed to the Gentle Rest for the night.
The next morning I filled Weyrith in on the wager we made. I did not get the reaction I expected. Boy was he mad! I have no idea why. A little hard work and we’ll be fine. He’s odd about thing sometimes. We picked up some cleaning supplies on the way back to Trollskull Manor and were prepared for a day of hard cleaning. We were just getting started and Mr Fairkettle stopped by with some great news! He had organized everything we needed to get this place working! He had a big stack of paperwork and said that for just $1,250g plus a small fee of $100g he could take care of everything in just 12 days. Even Weyrith seemed happy with this. I don’t know what he was worried about. It’s a lot of money, more than I can really comprehend, but I’m sure we can find a way to get it. Lucas generously paid Mr Fairkettle the 10% down payment and we don’t even need to do any of the work. Mr Fairkettle said we should probably stay elsewhere so we have some time to figure out how to pay the rest. Plenty of time!
Goretooth had been up collecting pigeons again and came down muttering about a creepy elf watching him from the house across the street. We were talking about going to introduce ourselves to the neighbours when we heard some heavy footfalls. A very large man in full plate armor was at the door. His armor was beautiful and he had the symbol of Kelemvor on his shield and the most amazing golden cloak. It billowed out all the time and there wasn’t even any wind. He introduced himself as Ambrose Everdawn and said that he was the guardian of the doorway to the Hall of Heroes in the City of the Dead. I’ve heard the Priestesses of Selune speak of him but I’ve never met him before. He’s a very formidable figure. He said he had heard of us and our work in the Downshadow and that we might be able to help him. Grave diggers were going missing in the Endless Plains and he could not enter himself to investigate because he has to guard the gate. He offered armor for two of our party if we could find the source if the problems and an additional 500g if we could take care of the problem itself. It really was a no brainer. We have 12 days to kill and need money to pay for the repairs to Trollskull Manor.
We accompanied Ambrose Everdawn to the City of the Dead and entered the Masoleum that contains the Gateway. It was filled with the broken weapons of Heroes that were laid to rest there. Two giant silver statues towered over the entrance to the Endless Plains. Ambrose warned us that it was easy to get lost in the Plains and that to get back all we needed to do was want to be home. Weyrith entered first, I followed and Goretooth and Lucas came after. Something about the way Ambrose spoke to Lucas bothers me a bit but I can’t put my finger on it.
The Endless Plains are peaceful and beautiful and haunting all at the same time. Nothing but rolling hills covered in tombstones with a pink sky as far as the eye could see. We wandered aimlessly for a while. The tombstones were very old and none of the names were recognizable. Goretooth sent Bird off for a look and he flew straight up and splattered against an invisible barrier. I guess the sky isn’t really a sky. Luckily Bird is fairly easy for Goretooth to bring back and he sent him off a little lower. Unfortunately he still couldn’t see more than rolling hills and more tombstones. We decided it was best to try to find more recent tombstones, since the grave diggers disappeared while digging fresh graves. Weyrith and Goretooth seemed to think that the tombstones responded to our thoughts, or at least to theirs. Weyrith wanted us to focus on grief, on loss of our own. I’m not sure how that would help but I was definitely NOT doing that. No way, no how. We just need to find whoever is messing with the diggers. Grief certainly isn’t going to help.
A few more minutes walking and I spotted a shovel stuck in the ground next to a half dug grave and a plain wooden coffin. There were a couple of bodies on the ground and they were missing pieces. Looks like we found our missing diggers. Goretooth seems to think the pieces were removed by someone who had some medical knowledge. Like the missing body parts were surgically removed. I got a little too close to the coffin and some creepy monster crawled out and tried to bite me! I managed to get my shield up just in time though and it just drooled on me a bit. It did manage to bite a chunk out of Lucas before we managed to destroy it though. Weyrith healed the bite up quite nicely though. He certainly is handy to have around. Goretooth definitely thinks this was a Ghoul and it chewed up these bodies after whoever it was removed some of the parts. Lucas found a couple pairs of footprints that we should be able to follow once we’ve had a bit of a rest and buried these two poor diggers. It’s been a long day and I think we’re going to need some sleep before we take on whatever it is we’re following.
I’m not sure who or what it is that wanted body parts. I’m pretty confident we can handle it though and I will protect my new friends if it’s the last thing I do.
Goretooth's Inner Monologue and ramblings Session 5
Inner monologue
Fantastic. Volo rewards us with a haunted manor. I can foresee this being more trouble than it’s worth. It will no doubt be a dilapidated pigsty.
As the group makes their way through the city to Magistrate’s office, Goretooth takes in his surroundings and scans the area for any signs of danger.
This section of the Waterdeep is much safer than any other district we’ve traversed but one cannot be too safe. I will summon Bird and he will reveal any dangers we may find along the way. I do not look forward to dealing with the mundane drudgery of claiming this property. However, the others seems eager to claim the manor; what fools.
Goretooth spread his arms in dramatic fashion, waves his arms in the air, and yells “BIRD!” a sickly blue light emanates from Goretooth’s chest and the familiar bursts forth into the sky.
As the city folk and his party give him odd looks Goretooth continues making his way towards the Magistrate’s office.
That should distract them. I really must find the time to register with the Mages guild. I am assuming word regarding my antics is making its way throughout Waterdeep. However, the show must go on and the humans must believe me to be a backwater imbecile.
Fast forward upon arriving at Trollskull Manor.
Well, I was correct after all. This manor is a terrible pile of shit. No wonder Volo was quick to get rid of it. However, it does fit the description of a haunted property. I must take the necessary precautions and discover if there is in fact an entity residing here.
Once again the half-orc performs for the humans. He raises his staff, the tiny bones attached to his cloak seem to dance as his arms make wide dramatic sweeps in the air. A glimmer of arcane energy emanates from his form.
It would be much easier to quietly meditate but the pomp and pageantry is so very entertaining. Excellent, Weywirth is giving me those looks again. Silly human, little does he know his faith will be tested.
After clearing all of the rooms and arriving at the basement.
It would seem that this place is not haunted after all. Just a run-down garbage heap. Oh my. What’s this? I was mistaken. I can taste a hint of transmutation magic in this room. Excellent! Maybe this won’t be as disappointing as I thought.
After having the conversation with the Broxley Fairkettle.
I wish this halfling would get to the point. Yes, I understand you are looking for money. Yes, you are attempting to convince us to join the other guilds. That’s how this bureaucratic city of guilds operates. The time, energy, and capital it will take to repair this dump will be taxing. Please stop wasting my time. You are fooling nobody. Well… Lucas and Amaris seemed enamored with his words. I stand corrected.
“HOW MUCH?” spits Goretooth towards the halfing. Goretooth looks uninterested in the halflings round about yammering and makes his way towards the roof. Lucas hands him the gold.
As the party leaves for supper Goretooth chooses to stay behind gorge himself on pigeons.
My theatrics have paid off. The group has left in disgust and I will now have a chance to draw the spirit out in private. Once I discover what we are dealing with, I will make it bend to my will. However, what would be the best way to do this? What would the humans expect? Ah, yes. Wanton destruction.
Goretooth creates skeletal hands to manipulate his surroundings and wreak havoc on the furniture.
Why is this not working? This blasted spirit should be appearing by now. This has been quite an unfortunate turn of events. I will rest and attempt again later in the evening.
After meeting Ambrose Everdawn and entering the Endless Plane
Goretooth commands Bird to fly into the air to inspect the landscape. *POOF* As Bird disappears in a flash he hides the concern on his face. Time passes by as the party makes its way through the Endless Plane. They discover the grave diggers they were tasked to find.
Unfortunate fools. At least their parts will be put to good use. This is unequivocally the work of an expert. They have used precise incisions to remove bone, organs, and body parts. Honestly I’m quite jealous of the work. I fear we will have a chance to witness their craftsmanship in the near future. Oh right. The theatrics.
Goretooth bellows “YES! This is the best! I’m so excited!” Points to the corpses and to the group. “Do you see this? This is the work of necromancy!” Obviously
As Weywirth performs the killing blow on the ghoul. The group decides to rest for the “night
As I expected we will be dealing with beings of undeath. I cannot deny I am very excited to see the creatures our quarry has enlisted. But for the time being, I have a new plaything to entertain me.
As the group settles in, Goretooth can be seen stuffing pigeons into his gaping maw and butchering the ghoul corpse. The half-orc seems to be enthralled while hands deep in its innards. He can be seen inspecting its musculature, pulling on tendons, and examining its various venom glands.
To the untrained eye, Goretooth seems to be crude and disgusting during the dissection. However, upon closer inspection, the half-orc looks to have a comprehensive knowledge of humanoid anatomy; like he’s done this before.
Session 6
As retold by Sir Weyrith Dauntinghorn
After resting up our party of.. adventures looked to take up the tracks that they had found previously. The tall grass of the Endless Plains seemed to have enveloped and hidden the tracks our brave band was keen on following. Once again Goretooth, Weyrith, Lucas, and Amaris had to focus and search to find whom ever had defiled the gravediggers corpses and ushered forth into undeath the ghoul our group had destroyed.
Scant moments after looking around a friendly feline face appeared; Tongue of the Devil finally had returned! It was a joyous reunion as these friends had gone some time without seeing each other and concern for Tongues wellbeing had been weighing on some of our parties minds. The 5 adventures then continued to seek the trail they had lost.
Focusing on various things and remembering to not get lost in their grief in the Endless Plains after the stern warning Ambrose Everdawn had given them. They stumbled upon another defiled grave with yet another ghoul. Dispatching the vile entity quickly between them, it was then they realized Lucas (last seen composing a somber yet delightful piece of music) was nowhere to be found. Troubling indeed yet our band pressed on after finding more footprints, including one VERY large print. Ominous and curiously the party followed the strange prints until finally they found a large dug up area filled with extremely dry dirt. Which was unusual as most dug up and exposed earth would be damp.
Weyrith took up the shovel the group had found earlier and jumped in, beginning to dig immediately. Finally they encountered a trap door hidden under the dry dirt. Tearing the door open it only revealed darkness descending below. Climbing down with those who could see in the darkness going first (Goretooth and Tongue) then the humans followed.
Once reaching the floor of the discovered crypt Amaris cast light onto a coin that rested in Goretooth’s magically woven spectral hand. Using the light the party explored into the crypt which was littered with bones of all sorts of dead humanoids. Goretooth’s excitement at such sights was barely contained. Weyrith in his typical dunderheaded bravadoo went straight for the door at the end of the hall which had a glyph emblazoned on it.
Trying the door set up off some type of death magic which raised from the piles of bones several zombies and skeletons. In the skirmish Tongue and Weyrith escaped relatively unscathed. Amaris and Goretooth took on some damage. Amaris used some of her healing powers for her group, selflessly concealing her own pain. Weyrith also used his lay on hands to assist.
Continuing to explore the unearthed crypt the party finally made their way to the necrotic-infused inner sanctum of some foul sort of arcane creature. Bursting forth from the hall way Weyrith, Tongue and Goretooth quickly entered the large sanctum. Quickly they found it to be full of various undead creatures including a large almost ogre like undead zombie thing, infused with multiple torsos and made of death. Tongue quickly engaged the foul beast in melee combat as Weyrith took multiple vicious blows from the skeletal archers raining arrows upon our beleaguered group.
At the rear of the room hiding behind some furniture was a gaunt elf like figure draped in dark robes and wielding a deathly aura. The Necromancer made his appearance and hurled insults at the party while flinging magic of all sorts at our adventures. Amaris hurled mystical flame upon the undead forces, while Goretooth maneuvered close to Weyrith as those two engaged the undead with zest. Weyrith was dealing death to the dead quickly. Tongue of the Devil had his paws full with the large undead ogre thing and cried for help. Weyrith charged around the wall he was using for cover and deal a Lathander-infused blow to the hideous creature ending its horrid existence. Now free from the monstrosity with his lightening quickness Tongue raced for the Elven Necromancer to confront the real threat to the Endless Plains and our heroes. To everyone’s surprise Lucas appeared as well during the battle and began to assist immediately with his bardic powers of inspiration to bolster his group. With only a few undead left the Necromancer began to get desperate and in this dark moment he summoned forth enough necromantic power to wither and drain the Tabaxi Warlock Tongue of the Devil who fell under this onslaught. Nooo! Screamed the rest of the party in almost unison and they charged the Necromancer in their fury. This foolish emotion played right into the Wizard’s hands as he quickly was able to rain a cone of fire upon Lucas, Amaris and Weyrith. The noble paladin collapsed under the weight of that spellfire. Amaris and Lucas faired better and continued to battle the Necromancer with Goretooth’s help. The heroes near death, drained and almost out of resources thankfully had on their side the celestial grace of the one known only as Lucas as he delivered the killing blow to the foul Elven-Necrowizard.
The costs of the victory were extraordinarily high. Weyrith under Goretooth’s expert ministrations was able to recover, Tongue of the Devil however was beyond anyone’s care or power. Completely withered into a dead husk, Tongue was gone…
As Ambrose Everdawn had foretold to Lucas: “Take care of them in there, only you can save them.” True to those words the Lucas had indeed saved them, well most of them.
Session 7 - No particular order
A somber Group returned from the endless plains and spoke with Ambrose Everdawn. Showing Ambrose the journal of the dead necromancer, He agreed to pay them in Full , 500 Gold pieces and a favor of 2 magical items made by his friend Saern, a dragonborn Blacksmith on the High road.
The party stopped in and had T.oD. properly buried with the right paperwork and then ventured towards home.
In the morning
Goretooth headed over to the the watchful order of Magists and protectors and paid his dues and became a full fledged registered wizard for Waterdeep.
The rest of the Party went to Saerns, meeting the DragonBorn they opted to have 2 suits of fine splint mail crafted for the pair of them. Lucas was given an ornate Rapier inlaid with musical notes and various dramatic designs.
Thinking that there was only 17 days left to have the Bar open , they decided they needed to find more work.
They first went to check on the Manor.
Trollskull manor was alive with work, although many of them seemed to be halflings, Weyrith doubted if Mr. Fairkettle was as sincere as he seemed to be when he offered to organize everything for them.
They met with the Foreman a halfling by the name of Felden , who said work was on time and after the first night the workers have all left by 7pm . there was a few disturbances.
They decided to meet with the neighbors a bit.
But before they could they bumped into a handsome man who wanted to meet the heroes of Downshadow, He introduced himself as Jalester Silvermane, Agent of the open lord.. He took a special liking to Weyrtih and offered to help them if they needed it.
They met Fala the androgynous elf across the street, a potion maker who offered her services and showed a little disdain for their pigeon eating companion. Later they wandered to The book store down the street run by Rishall a dragonborn wizard with an extensive library and some spells for sale.
Goretooth looked over the wares and was happy to have a wizard neighbor.
Knowing they were still short of their goal, they set into motion a plan of finding some work. ( except for Weyrith who briefly stopped in to meet with Jalester Silvermane alone)
They all headed over to the Yawning Portal where Lucas had made quite a few contacts. A night of drinking led to information on a quick job that pays well and they set up a meeting for the morning back at the gentle rest. Bonnie the waitress at the yawning portal had a soft spot for Lucas
This was the first night the party had seen Weyrith let loose, many drinks in and drowning the loss of their lost Ally, The party bonded of stories and thoughts of Names for the Tavern.
Amaris said she heard of a fruit in the desert called a prickly pear also known as Devil’s tongue and thought this should be the name of the tavern to honor their friend.
Goretooth had his mindset on heading back to the Manor , and despite his best efforts to go alone , a drunken group of friends followed the Wizard…
After Drinking that evening they returned to the Manor. Goretooth noticed a small piece of sandpaper drift to the floor as they entered.
He had a theory and put it to use by breaking some chairs and running his large black nail down the bar scratching the fresh wood. Suddenly Goretooth was in the Air, bounced off the ceiling and hit the floor.
It appeared that this Elven Ghost Lif, is interested in having the bar restored. Lucas and Amaris tried to call out to the ghost but they received no reply.
They stumbled all the way back to the gentle rest inn in the Tradeward to sleep off one of the best nights they have had together since they met.
In the morning a really old man entered the gentle rest and sat at their table very slowly.
He introduced himself as Lord Dorgar Ardabrandt of the house Adrabrandt. An 88 year old human from a house known to be one of the oldest and largest shipping families in Waterdeep.
In his fine clothes Dorgar explained to the party that he needs a document delivered to an ally in Rassalanter a days travel from the City of Waterdeep but still within Waterdeeps protection.
At the Sleeping Dragon Inn a man awaits this document who will need to be escorted to a safe location not far from the inn. For this simple task he offered 500 Gold pieces.
The party accepted with some suspicion as it was a lot of money for a short Journey, But Nobles often have more money than sense.
They headed out that morning to Rassalanter. Weyrith took his Horse, slowly mind you as the other all opted for a good day’s hike.
They reached the Sleeping Dragon Inn with no issues , found a table and told the Bartender ( Yondril a retired female dwarven adventurer) that they had the item for the man staying at her inn.
She asked for Goretooth to go upstairs and meet him alone. Amaris Noticed that the dwarf Bartender had a winged snake tattoo on her wrist, she might have some ties to the Zhentarim.
Goretooth went upstairs and rapped on the door. He met Fazoul and older Human, Bald with eldritch tattoos of blue lining his face and brow, He tried to conceal the Red and gold filigree of his robes under his cloak. But failed under Goretooths keen eye.
Without the scroll , Fazoul did not want to Parlay, Goretooth went back down and came up again with Weyrith hiding around the corner.
Fazoul excitedly took the scroll case and said to wake before the birds rise and they will depart to a location no more than a half day away.
Weyrith detected evil and did get a bad feeling about this Fazoul Person.
What have they gotten themselves into ….
Session 8
In the morning our adventurers met with Fazoul outside, he spoke of some ruins not more than half days travel away and requires protection until they get there. He seemed fairly certain that they would run into trouble.
The party gathered their belongings and headed out. Not long after a Gnome jumped out of the woods with his hands up and began praising them as the heroes of downshadow. He begged to travel with them and told a tale of how he had been tracking them. Lucas seemed the most skeptical as why would a gnome be out here in the middle of nowhere. Nonetheless our adventurers took on this starstruck Gnome as an ally and they continued towards the old ruins of Norsember.
Not far ahead they came to a crossing bridge . A half elf on his horse called out to step away from the wizard and he would spare their lives. Fazoul went invisible and advised to kill the bandit. This “bandit”introduced himself as Torin Hillcrest and claimed to be a member of the Harpers. Amaris asked for Proof and it appeared that Torin had none. With some banter and tense moments he gave them the count of 3 to back off, they didn't listen and suddenly it was raining arrows from the far woods.
They had been ambushed, Most took cover behind trees, but Weyrith Galloped forward into the fray . Intense moments passed Fireballs found their mark roasting many bandits in the woods and the party crept up in cover.
Wetrith found himself locked in Combat with Torin, they appeared equal but eventually Weyrith fell as his horse was taken down, The new ally Al the gnome Nailed a distant shot into Torin and the escaping bandit leader did fall.
They took a few bandits hostage with help from Goretooths sleep spell , Fazoul was not impressed. The bandits would not speak nor give any information. The party left them alive despite Fazoul’s warnings .
They reached the ruins of Norsember not long after and Fazoul gave them the rest of their pay in platinum. He then teleported away using magicks of an old teleportation circle.
The heroes returned home, some questions remained around if it was Harpers or Bandits that attacked but they were paid to do a job and they did it. There was solace found in having enough fund to complete the renovations of the tavern and it was finally decided that the Tavern would be named “The Prickly Pear” in honor of their lost friend Tongue fo the Devil.
Lastly they met back up with Broxly Fairkettle who offered them a place to stay until the renovations were done. Finally some time for a well deserved rest
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
You haven't played until you have played in a Castle.
Session 0
Session 2 The Hunt for Trog
Suddenly the corpses on the floor and the ones in the hall rise up and the party is surrounded by Zombies. The combined power of the party quickly dispatches the undead with aid from Amaris using the Power of Selune to strike fear into the abominations.
Weyrith rushed ahead and up some short stairs ,
Renaer took Floon and said he would meet them and Volo at the Yawning portal with in an hour.
After quickley cleaning up the Party met with Volo, Floon and renaer.
Volo thanked the graciously but admitted to them
The tube contains a deed to Trollskull Manor, a historic building in the North Ward ‘
Volo mentioned it may be haunted, Goretooth seemed a little to happy about this.
You haven't played until you have played in a Castle.
