Perhaps I should elaborate on this. A few years back, I was playing Out of the Abyss. My character was a wizard with 10 Charisma. Delg Thokralode was a dwarf who was quite proud of his background and family, and frequently introduced himself using his full name. I had also written a brief character backstory on Delg which the DM and I had gone over. Anyways, while
at the library of Gravenhollow, Delg met a ghostly image of Grazzt.
Thankfully, he recognized this as a demon, and during the conversation, he introduced himself as Delg of Clan Hafalda, and gave some other bogus information about himself (it should be noted that the name Delg was picked from the PHB and is probably very common). Now, I know what you're all thinking. Namely, that I rolled a Nat 20. Except...… I was never even asked to roll. I assumed that
Grazzt
saw right through my lies. Later, however, the DM told us that these were merely "echoes" of previous visitors and that I was very fortunate, since Delg had just told a demon all about himself and his family. We had a good laugh when I told him why I was so loose lipped.
In the grand scheme of things, this all meant nothing, but it was just something funny I thought I'd share.
