Sooo last night i spent the whole time planning out an adventure to take down a bandit fort where they would first go to the city after interrogating the bandit they got info so they know the general area but not the location and needed to find that out.
Whelp they went to the village, they sold some stuff, they investigated the area, and then had a whole situation with an antagonist I am using to lure them to the bandit fort. He is a drow assassin using illusions, the rogue of our group met them in a gamble and ever since they have been hunting him down following the body trail while he gets off on messing with them.
They almost walked into an explosive trap, almost fell into a pitfall trap, and then caught up to a hooded figure running that looked like him... when they grabbed him the illusion faded turning from a drow to a human and a cursed mark on his forehead that would explode if he stopped running for too long which lead to them being unable to save him. So the encouragement and motive to hunt this guy is not only is he evil but he messed with the group enough to get their attention.
He is working for the big bad and I had to come up with all of this on the spot which they all loved it and the characters thankfully!!!
