Here are some notes that I have written about a character that I am going to create using the Abhorrent Mind UA.
Giuseppe Russo - Notes
Giuseppe Russo was once a mundane researcher assigned to investigate a strange rift that had appeared on the barren planes of the Endless Wastes. Full of desire to please his academic masters Giuseppe's eagerness got the better of him, and he ventured too close to the rift. Before he knew what was happening, he had been sucked in and transported to the Far Realm. There; in the moments that exist between the tick and the tock, the alienness of the Far Realm tortured and twisted him - corrupting him right down the very core of his being. When he finally reemerged from the rift, he was no longer Giuseppe Russo, for he had been reborn as something other - something dark and terrifying, something that does not belong on Faerûn.
Transformed by his experiences, Giuseppe has become a chaotic neutral sorcerer whose power comes from the abhorrent minds of the Far Realm.
He now seeks a way to undo the dark perversions inflicted upon him, and once again become the man he was; but with each passing day, he can feel himself slipping further and further into madness as his humanity is slowly devoured by the unimaginable horrors that torment him, body and mind and soul.
Personality Traits:
There is nothing that I like more than solving a mystery and uncovering the truth of some hidden secret. However, I can not shake the feeling that others are after the knowledge that I possess, so I never write anything down and keep my discoveries to myself.
Ideals:
Nothing should fetter the infinite possibilities inherent in all existence, nor my will to unlock their hidden potential.
Bonds:
Knowledge is power, and I have an insatiable thirst for knowledge.
Flaws:
Discovering forgotten truths means more to me than all the lives that must be sacrificed for those ancient secrets to be revealed.
From these notes, what kind of character do you think Giuseppe Russo will be and if he was in your game, or part of your party; do you think that he would be fun and exciting, or does he sound like an over the top edgelord?
Feel free to give your opinions and thoughts and any constructive criticisms that you might have.
I know of a character who could easily be "edgelord"ish but she's a lot of fun. Abandoned by parents for being Tiefling, raised by a warlock who treated her poorly, signed up with a dread god for revenge, absolutely CE, always ready for violence, 100% loyal to her dread god... and is one of the funniest characters in the group (though they're all entertaining).
You have a foundation that can still go in any direction. I mean, sometimes Humanity is a little overrated. :D

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.

A caffeinated nerd who has played TTRPGs or a number of years and is very much a fantasy adventure geek.
