So I recently picked up warlock as a class. This is my first time actually playing and also have plans on playing it for a while.
My character is in short a teifling and have been abused most of her life but she's not a very sad person or care alot. She has a very seductive personality and hates nobles more than anything (since she was sold as a servant at a young age and was abused by her master).
What I do know is that y patron will be reaching out to my character when she prays to any being who can help her escape. With the patron's help she manage to escape and leave the town. However I have no ide how my patron will approach or who suggests the deal. Any idea? Thankful for any ideas and suggestions!
This something you will have to work with your DM to make a reality story wise. But some thoughts are below.
First, your motivation is clear; get out of a bad situation. So how FAR did you want to take it? This might influence who you attract to make a pact with. If it is anger and violence, a pact with Zariel, or other fiend who respects strength and force. Perhaps you used your seductive personality and used deception or guille...Fernia or Glaysa are logical ones..but so are Archfey for that matter.
For any of the above, each have their own motivations; the Devils need a corruptible soul, and making a bargain may help them in ways related to their interests; Glaysa expanding her network of criminals. Perhaps Mammon sees you as and investment to get more gold into his coffers. The Fey might just like a good story, and might invest into just to show off your story at the seelie court...or the unseelie court.
Now, another approach is the the Great Old one. Perhaps you found a book in the masters study that allowed you to contact them..or learn out to steal power from them. For perhaps a Celestial took pity and helped answer your prayers with you now 'in debt' to the powers in Celestia. Or your fear of dying at the hands of of your patron attracts Laroch and offers you the secrets on how to live forever, in exchange for this small thing.
As you might notice, the pact that you end of selecting probably has the biggest influence on who is your patron, and that narrows down who you might choose. If you are going for a Pact of the Fiend...you are looking at a cast of characters that all want your soul, impact on your home, or both. But if you want your patron to be a meddler in your affairs, you will need to talk to your DM. It might be simple enough that you choose the pact, and let them create the story for you. Depends on how collaborative your campaign will be.
Thank you so much for your reply. This helped me a lot. This is as i mentioned in my post the first time i actually choose to play a warlock and there's a lot to think about in this class. I hope his can be of any use with my DM.

you would probably make the pact for power.
