Sorry, not really. Does anyone KNOW which month is which? Cause the placement of holidays doesn't match up, so I get confused when I look at it.
Sorry for the 'necro', but this was a really good question that never got answered fully. I found this while working on a related project and thought I should answer in full.
tl;dr:When we approximately line up the solstices and equinoxes from the Calendar of Harptos with the North American solstices and equinoxes— since the Forgotten Realms was created in North America —we get the answer thatHammer is, indeed, January.
A brief seasonal astronomy lesson:
An equinox is the penultimate day or days during which the amount of daylight and nighttime hours are approximately equal before one or the other gains hours and becomes the majority of a 24-hour period for the next solstice. A solstice is the penultimate day or days during which either there are significantly more daylight hours (Summer) or significantly more nighttime hours (Winter) before the amount of either once again begins to change and balance out for the next equinox.
Known dates:
Ches 19 = Spring Equinox (even day and night) = March 20/21 Kythorn 20 = Summer Solstice (more daytime) = June 20/21 Eleint 21 = Autumn Equinox (even day and night) = September 22/23 Nightal 20 = Winter Solstice (more nighttime) = December 21/22
So, If Ches is the Spring Equinox and the Spring Equinox is in March on Earth, that makes Alturik become February and Hammer becomes January. Likewise with the rest of the months when listed forwards or backwards based on the known equinoxes and solstices. Thus, the known solstices and equinoxes prove the month correlations for The Forgotten Realms and our Earth.
Which month is Deepwinter? Is it January or December? Cause I really need to know.
