Hello everyone! I was wondering if there is a possibility of any dwarven societies or cultures that practice a more primitive lifestyle than typical ones.
I am familiar with the Wild Dwarfs from the Forgotten Realms setting, though I'm curious if its possible for other types like a Shield Dwarf group forming a more tribal society?

Chultan Dwarves!
The shield dwarves of Chult were albinos; their hair and skin were white, and they had pink eyes. This meant that they were very sensitive to the hot sun of Chult and therefore only came above ground at night. Otherwise, they were physiologically like their northern cousins
Most Chultan dwarves lived deep below the surface of Chult within one of its many mines full of gems, minerals, and ore. They made use of the dinosaurs of the surface as pack animals in their mining operations. Their culture revolved around the wealth of their subterranean mines, and they were superb craftsmen, particularly when working with gems and precious metals.
Bringing this back to explore the idea of a Chultan dwarf pc further, what would be some reasons for one to be somewhere beyond Chult, like the Sword Coast?
They were outcast. Put on a holy mission. Wanted to explore/find new things. To find the best of something (like gragas from League of Legends who just wants to find the best booze).

You can have your dwarf was taken captive as a slave by pirates and ended up freeing himself on the Sword Coast. Perhaps his/her quest is to find a way home? You can roleplay with the fact he/she gets metal armour/weapons and is overwhelmed by it because metal is SO rare in Chult. Maybe have them interact with clerics of the other dwarven gods since other dwarven gods outside of Thard Harr are foreign to them. Chultan dwarves have only heard of Ubtao and Thard Harr since Ubtao's only friend he allows to play on Chult is the dwarf god.

I would say hill dwarfs as they are very close to nature. You could give them proficiency with nature/survival?
