I played Spider-Man in a one-shot. He was a human, and his abilities were mostly based on the Fighter class, although he had a lot of custom, homebrew abilities. One big mistake I made was not giving his unarmed strikes the same power as a monk's. That would have helped a lot. And, of course, he only really works as a level 20 character, I think. But it was fun!

Maximilian "Mad Max" Oceanus, transmutation wizard, best known for being on the team that saved the universe from Kozelak's infinite hunger, and also an avenger of the Unspoken. Olaf Ericsson, a jolly ranger with a bit of an anger problem. Also likes to sing. Yaethel Akeelan, a druid with a plan; a very, very big plan. Damien Rook, full time author, part time adventurer. Plays god on Saturdays.
My son and I are fans of the anime series "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" aka DanMachi. So we ended up trying to model one of the characters, Ais Wallenstein. Being that she is near the top in the terms of the power curve, and representing all the various speed and flight abilities was a challenge.
Another one that really only works as a lv20 character... a hybrid Monk/Bard. He tours with his band, and battles evil, pure and simple, from the eighth dimension.
Now if only I could ever find a game where I could USE ol' Buckaroo.
Seymour from Little Shop of Horrors is just BEGGING to be a warlock, though.
My group kinda ended up with a spider man, or spider gnome. Gnome Way of shadows monk, with a Spider Staff and alertness feat. He then picked up a couple levels of wizard for war wizard for even higher initiative and more reactive defensive tools. SPIDER GNOME LIVES!

"I have found the answer to the meaning of life. You ask me what the answer is? You already know what the answer to life is. You fear it more than the strike of a viper, the ravages of disease, the ire of a lover. The answer is always death. But death is a gentle mistress with a sweet embrace, and you owe her a debt of restitution. Life is not a gift, it is a loan."
I Made a Starter version of Corvo Attano from The Dishonored Series, It was a long process in throwing together Homebrew items and spells for Days on end!

I came here looking for Buckaroo Banzai, and found the no matter where you go there you are principle in effect. I was thinking Bard too, and Monk makes sense as well. Wondering how you accommodate the super science super genius stuff. Proficeincies in medicine and "engineering"? I think the rest of the Hong Kong Cavaliers could be a mix of rogues, fighters, Jeff Goldbloom being a doctor too may be a Paladin.
I like Seymour as a Warlock.
Not really canon with the mainstream Jim Henson lore, but I've riffed off the old "Bert is Evil" meme and am working on Bert Redpillager as a potential party nemesis, Warlock with pacts to the Far Realm. He has a retinue of a Kenku subrace derived from pigeons I'm also trying to figure out. They won't have the the Kenku's mimicry ability, but I'm thinking of some sort of "bothersome flock" effect collectively where they frustrate and will not get out of your way. Ernie's likely a bard/rogue but not sure how he'll align or oppose Bert's schemes.

Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
This is a flipped version from a certain animated movie.
Jeracles is a showboating not so nice Paladin of Heroism (something like Captain Hammer from Doctor Horribles Sing Along Blog) with his hype woman/trainer Jilloctetes the satyr Bard of Eloquence you can call her Jill. Quite the one two punch with Jeracles being an intimidating, boastful hero of heroes, and Jilloctetes smoothing over anything he can't intimidate his way through and supporting him in combat with spells to keep the plebs from getting too close to him.
I especially like this because you could Romanize his name to Jercules (hehe i so funny) and he would be somewhat of a polar opposite to the Hercules of the disney film. Planned to be used as an antagonist who is a good number of levels higher than the real heroes of Theros. Jeracles will be the hero to end all heroes (literally) with Jill riding his coattails to glory as the greatest trainer of any hero ever!

I do love trying to create characters from other games or TV shows. Here's my best one:
He has the Wizard Magic Initate feat, so he can have Murray the demonic skull as a familiar!
Anyone care to share theirs? :)
I have two I'm particularly proud of, though for now they're purely hypothetical - haven't gotten to play them in a game yet:
I made her a halfling so she'd be able to ride her wolf companion. :)
"I'M GARFIELD, THE DEALS WARLOCK!"
"We're the perfect combination of expendable and unkillable!"
Love it! :D
SpasmThatCat, I love your Guybrush! I always pictured him as a College of Sword Bard, but the Swashbuckler makes so much sense!
I created the version of Bruenor from Idle Champions for a fun one off home game...

Not a difficult character to make, for sure, but fun to play!
Find me on Twitter: @OboeLauren
Bruenor Battlehammer, brilliant! I bet he was a right laugh to roleplay... :D

a monk way of the four elements (essentially he's the avatar from Avatar: The Last Airbender) and i made him a human

Loving all these so far, what a creative bunch! :)
I made Inigo the Brave from the Skyrim mod. I also made Ciri from the Witcher 3. Then one of my friends made Shoa Kong and Wolverine.
No one suspects a bush to hide in another bush
I love Inigo! And good choice on Ciri - I made a version of her who was a dog-person called Siri... :D
My current character is called Moon Sugar. She's a Khajiit masquerading as a Tabaxi.
I Made a Starter version of Corvo Attano from The Dishonored Series, It was a long process in throwing together Homebrew items and spells for Days on end!
Well I just got permission to make a Barbarian. I named him the Doomslayer and he's going to be the demons' worst nightmare

I tried to built Marvels Arrow. It was quite easy, but I didn't like to play a marksman.
I also build a Daryl Dixson from TWD. I love the character very much and it is easy to play.
I played as the Turbo Man action figure (warforged fighter) from Jingle All The Way in our Holiday One-Shot.
Mixed some stuff around for flavor:
Turbopack: 10ft fly speed but have to end turn on the ground.
Turborang: Modified boomerang.
Pull String Voice Activation: Take 6 quotes from the movie and number them. Roll a d6 as a free action to see what you say each round.
