What follows is a rough draft for a wood elf ranger I am making. I am fine with the rough details so far but I feel like the reason my character is hitting the world is a bit weak. Any feedback (not just on the better reason) is appreciated.
Blackhawk Bre'Nay is an Earlanni Tel-quessir who was born in 1295 to Blade-Major Rhaellen Darthammel, war leader of Evereska. In 1344, many elves left Evereska for the Retreat. Blackhawk and his family remained behind to protect Evereska. Blackhawk grew up learning the ways of his father, eventually earning early placement with the Vale Guard in 1370. He aspired to one day earn a place with the Swords of Evereska. But it was not to be. In 1372, Evereska was attacked by freed phaerimms from Anauroch. Blackhawk was one of the few Vale Guard survivors; with more than half of the Swords perishing. Two years later, the Retreat ended and the rest of the elves started to return to Faerun. Blackhawk decided to leave Evereska after that. What good was it to protect a place that had been abandoned by most of his kin? Blackhawk's journeys eventually took him to Tall Trees. There he learned of the Council of the Wood and their desire to rebuild Earlann. Reitheillaethor and Nordahaeril, two settlements in Tall Trees, were already founded and growing. It was here that he met Morgwais Nightmeadow, the Lady of the Wood, leader of the Caerilcarn. Inspired by what he saw of his fellow Tel-quessier, Blackhawk pledged himself to Morgwais and the rebuilding of Earlann. Here Blackhawk remained for over 100 years, learning his craft and as a follower of Solonor, becoming with one with his bow.
Blackawk has been tasked with seeking out like-minded Tel-quessier and to encourage them to return and assist with rebuilding Earlann. (Ugh, feels like a weak reason to leave Tall Trees).
I could do that but rebuilding Earlann is the core to original story. It is where i originally started and worked backwards for how he got there. Rebuilding Earlann is essentially the new meaning - hence my conflict on what takes my character away from there.

Is this for a planned campaign where rebuilding Earlann is already part of the major plot? If not, then you're asking the DM to put in plenty of hooks to help you try and rebuild Earlann.
No, pure flavor. Being created for AL so DMs will neither have an obligation to use nor really any means to use it unless the module has references to it.
Edit: Been thinking that the character could be asked to seek out elven artifacts and/or funds to use for rebuilding. Coupled with the fact that AL caps the number of magic items a character can keep, everytime I drop one I could flavor that as the character taking it back to Tall Trees.

Help me overcome my writer's block! :)
Why not delete just the last paragraph.
He is leaving a place that has been abandoned, and he is searching for a new meaning in life.
Endless RP available in looking for a worthy cause.
