I have a few ideas for a divine soul sorcerer, but most of them involve less then pure sources.(for example,a succubus soul in a mortal body). I know the name and discription of the subclass says divine, but does that have to mean godly/anglic,or can it just mean super powerfull magical being, like a fey or fiend?
(There are options for a evil and neutral origin, which is the reason I made this:to clear the confusion on if it means I got my powers from a evil god,or if I could get it from a archfey or devil lord)
(I am guessing the answer is no-unless-dm-says-yes,but I want to know for sure)
Thanks for the advice everyone. I have decided to make a homebrew based on the divine soul, and reflavor it to be more open ended (and slightly more powerfull). lf l could,l would share it,but there is a error thing stoping me. -_0_- EDIT: here is the Subclass
DM. But I don't see why not, as it makes sense. Divine means godly/extremely powerful magical being. E.g a unicorn could work, or queen of the summer court could. Always ask DM first, and they get fin say. Remember how evil characters work with a party...

imo, the rules are a chassis for players to create a character they like. The "lore" for it shouldn't be relevant. As long as your story makes sense and your DM buys off on it, run with it.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.

Divine to me means godly. A warlock pact could be with an archfey or devil or something.
