So, I was looking at Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes and I saw a note that is intriguing. The quote “The elves of Oerth are a sad sort abused by their past conquerors...” I know very little from Greyhawk, but from what I know and what I searched in the internet, I’ve found nothing about the Elves of Greyhawk being conquered. Can someone explain me about it?
The elves were displaced from their original homeland by the Great Migrations and suffered casualties then, but I don't recall ever hearing about them actually being conquered.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
Thats odd, I know like nothing about Greyhawk but that is weird, especially that elves have proven to be very powerful in other settings, like the (I believe) Valenar elves from Eberron. I know that these are not Valenar elves but still. Maybe they were not conquered but were defeated in some great battle, then the survivors were left to die and only barely survived as a race. Just brainstorming
