I've always found the Kobold's evolution through D&D history super interesting, as they have grown from the fairly generic, unidentifiable people-hating creatures of 1e to the sneaky, vengeful little miners/dragon servants they are now. For me, one thing that has always stood out about them in previous editions, however, is the sound they make - yip, bark, bork, call it whatever you like -, which if I'm correct originated from the time they were described as vaguely dog-like. Now that they're reptilian and speak Common and Draconic, I haven't seen information on whether or not they still have their own unique, if very limited language of canine sounds, so... Do they? Or has this bit of lore been abandoned in favor of having the little guys talk in a more comprehensible manner?
(Feel free to ask YOUR stupid lore-related questions in here as well!)
After re-reading the Monster Manual and Volo's entries for Kobold’s I don’t see anything about any particular sounds or language exclusive to them as a race. That being said, that’s a pretty cool idea, and I might use it for my Kobolds in the future. I feel like that makes them a little more savage than normal 5th Edition Kobolds!

If we fallow Matt Mercer way of DMing then yes they will bark + some simple common/undercommon. (I know there were gnolls)
On the Forgotten Realms wiki, it says that they speak Yipyak, a dialect of Draconic. Though I'm not sure if that still qualifies in 5e.
In my headcanon they yip and speak in sort of squeeky childlike voices ''no! No hurts Klikabop! Klikabop help mitey warriorses like yous!!"
Whereas goblins are still squeaky but more grunting than kobolds.
