I'm joining a campaign that's a dungeon crawl with horrifying elements to the campaign. In this dungeon, my character has been kept alive for 1,000+ years by a being(s) of a celestial and infernal origin. They have not seen anyone in those years until the current party entered the past the doorway that's been locked for the same amount of time. My character was sent down there with a selected team to explore the dungeons in the past and is the only one their original party to "survive" despite being trapped in the 2nd floor since no one has been able to open the door. My DM talked about the possibility that they could take power from these being(s) without my characters knowledge thus I ended up as a Hobgoblin Zealot Barbarian who started as a soldier to only end up as a mercenary. Since they are in a constant state of death and survival, I want to take it towards descent into madness. Anything would be helpful, thanks : ))

have them talk to their long-dead friends/relatives/enemies who are not really there
