So I'm in need of a back story for my character but I just can't think of one I'm a tiefling barbarian please my game is like tomorrow I'll answer any questions
As a tiefling, you and your human mother were forced into the wilderness to avoid murderous superstitious mobs. When she died of a disease in your eighth winter, you raised yourself, hunting and gathering and not really knowing how to speak common because the only person you ever spoke to growing up was your mom and she had basically gone crazy.
There’s no need to be too crazy or complex. As a barbarian, you probably grew up as part of a tribe living in the wilderness. Maybe because of your tiefling blood, you were only allowed to stay until you came of age, at which point you were cast out. So you made your way to civilization and became an adventurer. You hope that, if you can prove your worth by doing many great deeds, you can one day return to your tribe.
It might also help to make up a name for your tribe and its elder, decide what biome it was in, that sort of thing.
(Also, please don’t choose to make your character not speak Common as another poster suggested. That can be really frustrating for the other players!)
It's also worth noting that you can make more backstory for your character after the game starts - usually the DM has a plan for at least one or two sessions, and it won't involve your backstory at all. As the DM learns your characters, they will start to think of how they can throw some plot hooks your way based on your backstory, and then the next part of your campaign will start.

What do you know about the DMs cam[aign area?
Itinerant Deputy Shire-reave Tomas Burrfoot - world walker, Raft-captain, speaker to his dead
Toddy Shelfungus- Rider of the Order of Ill Luck, Speaker to Friends of Friends, and Horribly big nosed
Jarl Archi of Jenisis Glade Fee- Noble Knight of the Dragonborn Goldcrest Clan, Sorcerer of the Noble Investigator;y; Knightly order of the Wolfhound
I would come up with the backstory before I roll out the character, but since you can't, there's always the amnesiac route.
I have a weird sense of humor.
I also make maps.(That's a link)
Not really just asked him he just said theres alot of biomes but he said he was just looking for a simple plot that's not to complex
