So 6 months ago, me and my friends decided that we should start filming our d&d sessions and then i would edit them into smaller and more... Digestible formats, if that is even an expression. The reason we wanted to do this is because we love watching d&d videos but they become REALLY tiring to watch after 1 or 2 hours, or sometimes we don't even have time to watch or to listen to them. Fast forward 3 months later and one thing led to another and I ended up buying 2 webcams, alongside with my DSLR, an audio interface, 5 lav microphones and led lights. We thought we were ready to rock and roll... But everything turned to a complete nightmare. DSLR started overheating, the PC wasn't capable of recording the sound and 2 webcams at the same time and I spent nearly 2 months trouble shooting and trying to work everything out. So the day came were i called my DM and I told him that I was pretty sure I got everything nailed down, nothing is going to go wrong. Next week I set up the studio, everyone comes, DM sets up, I do a recording test and we're ready to go! Session went as smooth as possible, we had so much fun after a long break of not playing D&D and the recording seemed to be fine. Or at least I thought so. I woke up the next day excited to edit the video and show it to our friends and laugh about the stupid thing we say. I start the PC and load up the files to the editing software... And they were corrupted, the image was choppy and we lost a massive portion of the audio. Turns out 2 months of troubleshooting didn't do the trick. What followed was a week of "What I'm I going to do now? The session's started, I can't possibly demand from everyone to redo everything all over again.". A phone call with my DM followed and we came up with an idea. 3 weeks later and the results were AMAZING in terms of that all we had was a corrupted audio file. We released our first episode, of what we called "An Animated Podcast" named The Iron Key, last week and just a few hours ago our 2nd episode and we are pretty pleased with the results!
