Hello everyone! We're moving away from doing full recaps of our liveplay streams, and focusing more on promoting the VoDs and clips. But I know it can be valuable to get a quick recap before a new episode. So along with Todd's regular opening show recap, I've started posting these Summaries, including quotes and links to clips, here on the forums for our shows. This will also give people an easier place to comment and ask questions about the show! Thanks everyone!
It’s been a week since the island of Steelmarrow was destroyed, but repairs and reconstruction are coming along nicely. Keen returns from his mission from Avren in Avernus, exhausted and annoyed but happy to be out of the hellscape. He stashes his Avren coin under the foundation of the statue being built, hoping it’s buried somewhere it will never be found, then returns to reconnect with his pegasus. Through the busy marketplace crowds Orkira suddenly spots the terrifying figure of Killian! He kills Penelope with a Power Word Kill, though the cleric is able to Revivify her immediately. Everyone is shocked and confused, not understanding why he would leave Wildemount and attack any of them in Theros.
The Heroes are quick to clear the crowd and jump into battle though Killian is wielding magic far more powerful than what any of them have access to. Orkira is able to corner the wizard in a building and demand answers, but Killian only explains that he travels from world to world making sure certain things happen and the Heroes are getting in his way. He manages to cast one last spell before Keen and Briv arrive and slaughter him, but the form of Killian crumples into snow and water revealing it is a simulacrum. The items he leaves behind are all trapped with dangerous wards, and the last spell left runes all over the floor like booby traps, making for a harrowing escape from the house. The Heroes are able to escape but not without a lot of destruction and fear.
Orkira uses Sending to contact the real Killian, who says he’s not trying to kill them but they are in his way. He doesn’t care about them, and won’t reveal what he is trying to do, but says as long as they stay on the island or return to Wildemout they will be fine. However if they attempt to go anywhere else in Theros he will kill them. The group are unwilling to let someone like Killian run rampant, however they are unsure how to combat his superior powers and still have no idea what he wants. But first they need to rest and recover, and as a safe space is secured Keen takes some time to find a saddle shop to outfit his pegasus. The shop is staffed by an eladrin who seems to know Keen, and announces that he is being charged with killing Killian.
