Like the title says, I'm trying to use the combo of conjure fey @7th level (shepherd druid), then trap it with iron flask. My question is mutlifold:
1) will the conjured fey have the magical based dmg and the extra hp even while in flask (since shepherd)?
Yes, it has been conjured that way.
2) does the 1 hour reset each time I let the fey out and put it back in?
Why would it ? So no, the spell stops after one hour. The fact that the creature does not age while in the flask does not change the duration of the spell and, by the way, you still need to concentrate on it, otherwise the fey winks out instantly, flask or no flask.
And it would certainly not reset the spell duration anway, why would it ?
3) would the fey disappear after 1 hour due to the restriction the initial spell placed on it?
Of course, why would it not ?
4) is this a fantastic way to bypass the conjure spells limits?
No, see above.
5) are all elementals/fey from a different plane thus able to work with the iron flask?
In general, Elementals come from elemental planes, fey from the feywild / shadowfell so yes, but it might depend on your DM's views, so check with him.
Thank you all for the help in advance. I just got this item tonight (empty, which ironically I'm happy about)and thinking how to best use it
It's a great item, enjoy it, but the plan above would not work, unfortunately.
Thanks for the help, although the spell I was referencing was the conjure fey one (the one where they go hostile when you stop concentrating on them not the normal blink out one).
The reason I was questioning it also is that from how the item is worded (even not using the conjure fey idea) is it feels kinda ambiguous of if the time is tied directly to the creature itself or if it is tied to the flask. Since if flask then you could recapture it and thus get a new 1hr duration. If creature then ?
The main question I'm having as well is just trying to find out if there is a ruling on the flask that (disregarding the conjuring spell) the 1 hour refreshes each time you recapture the entity into the flask.
... and you wonder why the conjured fey becomes hostile?
Lyxen is completely correct on the rules, but lorewise or in terms of role play this idea troubles me. Fey and iron just don't mix. Even Chaucer reminded us of this fact. Nor can I imagine them wanting to be put into a bottle. Are you, perchance, conspiring with Lady Cottington ?
Alright, silliness aside, I think your post has given me an idea for an encounter.

Ok so it seems the 1 hour on flask does in fact reset each time the creature is captured.
