I just started playing a Centaur on a westmarches server and while it's an extremely fun character, I can't help but look at something like the Dhampir and just cry a little. They can move along any solid surface no problem, and at 35 feet no less. But me? Defeated by steep incline.
Oh, and if I dash and gallop 80 feet towards an enemy in a single round I cannot use the ability called "Charge". Okay WotC.
Take some monk levels, or the Ranger optional class feature replacement for Roving , and pick up a climbing speed to scamper up walls with your upper body strength alone while the horsey half dangles useless in mid-air. Ridiculous problems call for ridiculous solutions :)
Watch out for ladders.
And cliffs.

I'm going to make this way harder than it needs to be.
If the Centaur was a Humanoid, and not a Fey, then you COULD go with Dhampir who was originally a Centaur . . .
You'd have lost all your abilities, except the physical, 4 legged, appearance of a centaur .
Watch your back, conserve your ammo,
and NEVER cut a deal with a dragon!
