In an upcoming game I have the choice of one rare item so I am weighing the options. My current leading options are Bracers of defence, a ring of protection, or Scaled Ordament (rare). I'm trying to figure out what of the three would be the biggest boon like is the extra +1ac worth it with bracers of defense, is the bonus to saving throws better with the ring, or do I go with the team buff of the Scaled Ordament even though it is less likely to come up?
Lvl 7 Multiclass of soulknife (3) and feywanderer (4) trying to focus heavily on psychic damage and skills. I'm using mage armor and have a maxed dex so my AC would be 18 without any items but I'm planning on being upclose so I wanted the slight extra boost.
Immunity to Charm and Frightened is a pretty powerful ability. The Scaled Ornament is pretty good in that regard, and not something you'd be as likely to find later in the campaign as a Ring (or Cloak) of Protection or Bracers of Defense.

"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
