Hey all, im starting in a new campaign and were starting at level 5 and moving upwards. Im planning on playing a Sorlock and im starting at 5 levels Sor then taking leveling in Warlock, then finishing the rest out in Sor. Our GM is allowing us to start with a rare or lower item, SO my question is what should i take. Here are my thoughts.
Cloak of displacement: Obviously a great choice, for any caster, being harder to hit with a lower AC is always a solid choice
Rod of the Pact Keeper +2: wont be useful now but as soon as i reach 6th/7th level and take warlock levels it immediately jumps my to hit and Save DC so i think its a great choice with some delayed greatification
Amulet of Health: Good choice, not sure how it compares to the previous 2, 19Con helps free up points for character build to max out multiple stats but not sure if its good enough to trump either of the other two choices.
Anyway, thank you all for any help you can provide!!

CofD is solid.
RoPK only works with your Warlock spells, not your Sorcerer based spells, so not worth it.
Amulet of Health is super solid, with huge bonus to your Concentration saves.
If I was planning on using a lot of Concentration based spells, I would take AofH.
I'm going to recommend a Staff of the Python. It has 60 HP that disapears at the end of battle. It is Huge and can grapple Large/Medium foes. The grappling is done when the Giant Constrictor Snake hits, no athletics check required. The attack bonus will be good for quite a few levels.
That and a Flying Broom. The boom doesn't require attunement so you can switch off with buddies.
Currently playing a non-hexblade sorlock. If you go with a DC boosting item, choose the Bloodwell Vial. You are not going far enough for the one extra slot to mean anything and the DC only affects the spells from the class it boosts as stated by Vince_Snetterton. The ring of Spell Storing is great to load up your reaction spells like Absorb Elements, Shield, etc.. so you can use your slots as needed without holding back. The Tasha shards are another item to look at. Depending on which subclasses you are focusing on, they may be a better fit for a back liner. Unless you are in melee, a caster hardly needs defenses past their reaction spells. If a combatant chooses to rush the cast and hits them, you should be able to survive at least a hit or two before flinging a spell to get away (Misty Step, Shocking Grasp, etc). Also, you probably have a high CHR, so bonuses to attack become more useless as time goes on and you are pretty much hitting most of the time. I get to 18 in primary stat and hold that until I am late tier 3.
My picks that would be useful throughout your build would be: Ring of Spell Storing, Bloodwell Vial +2, Tasha's Shard that fits your concept.
I am currently using a Shadowfell Shard which curses a target into having disadvantage on SAVES and ability checks for a full round. It is Heightened Spell, which is usually a 3 point cost, added to a spell I spend a 1 point metamagic option on. I Subtle Spell for 1 point and get a 4 point option which has aided my character a ton since I built my character around save-or-suck spells. The funny thing is this is one of the more boring options to choose from.

IMHO, Earthdawn is still the best fantasy realm, Shadowrun is the best Sci-Fi realm, and Dark Sun is the best D&D realm.
I'd go with a +2 Bloodwell Vial (Rare). Increases the DC of your sorcerer spells by 2, grants you a +2 bonus to attack rolls for sorcerer spells, and once per day when you roll Hit Dice to recover HP, you gain regain up to 5 sorcery points. You'll find it in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything

If you want AC, Elven Chain may be helpful. and you don't need the armor proficiency to use it, so it won't hinder you.
Unless you're a Yuan-Ti Pureblood, Mantle of Spell resistance could help you against spellcasters.
Wand of the War mage adds to attack roll spells.
Depending on your race, a few others may be useful, unless you haven't picked that yet

I’d be torn between a Ring of Spell Storing and a Wand of the War Mage +2. Both will be used constantly, especially by a Sorcerer/Warlock.

Just get Hexblade + Crystal Blade = DAMAGE BABY

Guildmaster's Guild to Ravinca has the best item for a Sorlock.
Illusionist's Bracers. lets you cast any cantrip as a bonus action if you use your action to cast it. Which is what a Sorlock is designed to do.
