The party I am DM'ing is about to come into contact with an unber-powerful warewolf. In saying that I'm trying to come up with artic themed Lycanthropes I can throw at the party. I don't like being limited to just wolves.
So far I've come up with a Moose and Polar Bear. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Please and thank you.
Wereboars (boars can be found that far north) and were cave lions. Or throw something they really aren't expecting: a were Homotherium or a were Nanuqsaurus.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
Well I mean ... if you want to paint outside the lines a bit, a were-elemental or were-remorhaz might be fun. I have this image of the poor wereguy being shredded from within by his remorhaz friend, and then, when the rampage is over, he crawls out of the wreckage of the remorhaz, naked and confused as the giant worm dissolves into stinky goop.
Were-elemental is ... less colorful. But since it's not a natural phenomenon, I see no strict reason to stick with naturally occurring animals =)

Blanket disclaimer: I only ever state opinion. But I can sound terribly dogmatic - so if you feel I'm trying to tell you what to think, I'm really not, I swear. I'm telling you what I think, that's all.

+1 for Walrus
