When I think of Fey creatures, I think of Bards, Rogues, Druids, and Rangers. They prefer nature over metal, spells over violence, and Trickery over everything.
LIkely my favorite subclass for a Fey is the Disney Bard, aka College of Creation that makes items appear out of nowhere and dance.
Bard: College of Creation or College of Glamour Druid: Circle of Dreams or Circle of Shepherd Ranger: Fey Wanderer or Swarmkeeper Paladin: Oath of the Watchers or Oath of Ancients - these kind a work but not the best. Cleric: Trickery Domain Wizard: School of Enchantment Rogue: Arcane Trickster Artificer: Alchemist - this one's probably no so good.
The only Fey races available as player characters are centaurs, satyrs, fairies, and changlings. Centaurs and Satyrs both have fairly generic racial abilities and can perform pretty well as any class, though centaurs are a bit biased toward physical stuff. Changlings get the most use out of their racial shapeshifting as some sort of infiltrator, but they can make do with other classes reasonably well. Fairies are the most specialized- with their innate spellcasting and ability to fly they're best suited as spellcasters, particularly ones that don't bother with armor as wearing anything other than light armor renders them unable to fly.
