So as we all pretty much know the level 20 ability for sorcerers stinks, right? So, what if I use just one level of Warlock in my campaign instead?
Obviously you would say i miss out by only taking one level, but then I would miss out on a feat. With this feat (tough) combined with a 20 in Charisma, i get as many hit points back as possible with my level 18 Divine Soul ability.
There is one other way to get tough, but not only is it controversial but it doesn’t fit my character; one of the backstories awards the tough feat for free rather than getting it at level 19.
Of course, campaigns rarely last that long, but high constitution is good for concentration spells anyway. Grant it, that’s what Warcaster is for, but I’m not sure where to put it without going Custom Lineage. So yeah, I’m basically carrying a shield (Hexblade) just to drop it!
Be honest, is there any saving this build and how?
Why is your AC so low? You have proficiency in Medium Armour + Shields, put on a Breastplate and buy a shield to bump that up to AC 18.
Why do you have Firebolt and EB? Those are redundant, swap Firebolt for Mage Hand, Mage Hand is the most powerful cantrip in the game.
Swap Resurrection for Teleport, it's much better to just get out of dodge, than to be resurrecting people.
Swap Spiritual Weapon for True Polymorph / Shapechange - Spiritual weapon is garbage at 20th level you're much much much better off Quickening EB than using Spiritual Weapon
Swap Levitate for Fly - Fly is just better in everyway than Levitate
Swap Protections from Evil/Good for Hex in Warlock - you've got Holy Aura which is just a better version of ProcG/E, then use Fey Touched to get Silvery Barbs, and pick up Command from Divine Soul Sorcerer instead
Swap Hypnotic Pattern for Banishment or Wall of Force - at level 20 Hypnotic Pattern doesn't stand up any more since enemies are intelligent and numerous and many are immune to Charm - they will quickly wake any of their allies that get hypnotized.
Swap Repelling Blast for Grasp of Hadar - you've got Spirit Guardians, and an effective AC of 18 + 5 so you should want the enemies close to you.
Swap Heighten Spell for Subtle Spell - being Counterspell-proof is much more valuable than imposing DisAdv on one save especially when you've got Silvery Barbs which is just better than Heightened Spell
Why are you worried about "saving the build"? It's disgustingly broken.
* You got 3 of the most important utility cantrips around (guidance, minor illusion, and prestidigitation). You may want to consider getting Control Flames or Create Bonfire or Message or Mending for the utility. Firebolt is cool but has less general uses for doing fire damage.
* Fey touched is a great way to get misty step
* Hexblade is a great dip, some people love to hate on it. The other sub-classes are cool and all. You could also consider Pact of the Fiend for the temp HP on kill or Pact of the Fathomless for the swim speed and the ability to breath underwater.
* +11 con saves is fantastic. I don't see Warcaster on your sheet but you mentioned it in your post and so that'd help even more. With +11 con saves, anything less than 24 points of damage cannot threaten your concentration on a spell because even if you roll a 1, you still beat a DC 12 concentration check.
* The agonizing + repelling blast is a good combo. Depending on when you do your warlock dip, you'll be doing strong damage throughout and not many things will resist it.
What I don't like;
* Taking Hex as your fey touched spell isn't a great choice. You've got other things you'd want to keep concentration on rather than a bit of bonus damage. Consider Dissonant Whispers or Command, something that doesn't require concentration and still provides crowd control options.
* I'd strongly consider taking Wish over anything else and then using Wish to cast any spell 8th level or lower that you'd like. You're probably going for a Theme, though, which I support. :)
Just make sure to get yourself some medium armor! :)
One of my more powerful builds is a 2 lock / 18 sorc. You can even get away with 3 lock / 17 sorc and still get access to 9th level spells! :) A 3rd level of lock would let you pick up a pact boon and make your character even more powerful.
I have since updated several things based on feedback:
I don’t get armor or a shield by default.
i switched fire bolt for mage hand.
i did swap resurrection for teleport.
My build is designed to be level flexible to change as needed for a campaign, so I want to keep leveled spells at the same level.
Because of that, I still know hex, but swapped it out for hellish rebuke so i could get silvery barbs through fey touched and replaced it on my spells known with command. I did keep Protection fro Evil and Good since I changed Holy Aura.
I actually swapped Spirit Guardians for Storm Sphere, so because of that I kept Repelling Blast.
...let me know what you think?
Just please be polite. I know parts of this are OP. My future DM seems ok with having no restrictions, and I really put a lot of thought into this.

I finally found a group to play with whom are very relaxed and do one-shots, so the sooner I can decide on a build the better. Thank you!

This is a fine build, my friend!
