Heya guys! New game I joined recently and playing rogue thats mainly focused on melee instead of ranged (besides throwing a dagger.) And was wondering to hear what tips people would give dor finesse melee weapons and feats? Im also playing a wild card rogue (A old partnered content subclass, slightly modified to the dms wishes but basically the same.) Ive played rogue a lot but wanted to hear what others would do.
I was thinking to get either mobile or cruel (partnered content feat). I also was tempted to dip a level into hexblade warlock for booming blade and hexblade curse then at level 4 rogue I get war caster for the good old reaction booming blade which potentially using sneak attack if an ally is within 5ft of the enemy as well, though would be a better combo with a variant human swashbuckler but still something id consider. Also I already have skilled from my background and the dm gave us each a feat that beat fits our character and I got shadow touched so no need to recommend those 2.
But yeah hope to hear some fun and great ideas from everyone!
I agree with Wysperra about Mobile. I don’t know if Hexblade curse is worth the dip, but that’s me. I would consider Magic Initiate feat for Booming Blade, if you could fit it in.
The only reason to dip a level into hexblade warlock is to get booming blade without having to use a feat on it, cause then I'd need 2 feats to do the combo but getting booming blade via warlock would make it easier cause it'll be only a 1 level dip, so at level 5 I can have booming blade and war caster (level 4 rogue feat).
If I didnt go the warlock route then I'd have to wait a while before I can get my Magic Initiate to get the combo going.
Haha im unsure exactly honestly, I'm just figuring out atm how exactly i wanna build them aka what classes i should consider multiclassing for and what feats to for sure get

Go for Genie warlock instead. Not only do you get BB but you get to add your proficiency bonus to damage 1/turn.
Ok ok Im listening, thats honestly not a bad idea and it sounds fun!
Ill probably put my next level in warlock to getvit, then at the level after that i reach level 4 in rogue so i can get war caster. You think that sounds fine? If yah have any other ideas then im willing to hear them out!

Seems like you already have it figured out. Mobile is a great Feat btw.

Just think about what it is you want to character to be good at, then try to go for it.
