Hi All, I'm starting a new campaign soon and was looking to play a character who was basically trained by a "divine" being. Not actually a god (though maybe?) but some higher planer entity to act as their champion in the mortal world as they can't directly interfere.
I'm looking to DBZ Supreme Kai for a little inspiration (seriously I'm not building an anime character point blank), but like the idea of him being a strong martial with some magic support mixed in.
So what would you suggest? I was originally thinking pure monk warrior of elements for all the martial powers, reflavor the elemental abilities as divine energy. Or maybe a dip into Cleric? Or maybe even a Bladesinger for the melee and magic options?

2014 or 2024? blade singer is a good idea simply because you can have 10+dex+wis+int as your AC. combo that with deflect attacks and shield and you will be a force to be reckoned with.

hello there! I have too many ideas. I love splatoon and obssess over any minmax. I'm sorry if anything I post is unkind or offends you. I'm well aware that I am very weird and I like it that way! call me adam or atomic.
cool. get 3 blade singer, get fey touched (hunter's mark) and weapon mastery(scimtar).

Paladin -> the classic class for the divine warrior.
Zealot Barbarian -> strongly divine-coded and amongst the most powerful martial characters in the game.
Valor Bard -> with the upgrade to their Extra Attack in 2024 these guys are fully competitive as martials and can easily be flavoured as divinely inspired rather than musical / artistic.
Celestial Patron Warlock -> this is the definitive "I was trained by a celestial non-god being" archetype, can be built to be a decent martial with True Strike and Pact of the Blade but is much more limited in choices than the others.
If your DM will allow you to import 2014 subclasses into 2024, then Sun Soul Monk is your go-to if you want to focus on unarmed strikes rather than weapons.

paladin- eh, doesn't work that well with monk
zealot- ok, but again, doesn't work with monk. too mad
valor bard-YES! they are very good, espcially paired with warlock.
celestial warlock- great choice! pact of the blade, agonizing blast, 6 levels in celestial warlock, and GWM, on true strike, you get 5d6+21 at level 20. multiclass however you want. at level 6, 3d6+18.

I'm really into your inspiration, here some ideas. Hope they help
Make your origin divine, choose the pantheon your connected to and choose based on that. Non human, mage initiate will give you plenty to shape it.
If monk is your jam, go with a magical archetype. Elements, sun soul both great choices.
Let your inspiration guide you on the PCs growth. Feats like fey touched or speedy can give you that dbz fast movement while alert or observant for some sensing people. Skilled or resilient can give you that supernatural presence, like when devine emissary have unknowable knowledge and resist magics.

Pretty sure bro was talking about straight classes that match a divine warrior concept, not a monk multiclass.
I think a Couatl Herald Fighter might work as well for a Divine Warrior concept, If you wanna be a real goody goody!
