Title more or less says it all. The subtle cast of Enchantment spells is potentially very powerful on the AU Adept feat but is it still worth it if I do not have any other Enchantment spells to cast?
I am working on an Gnome Artificer and leaning into the Spy / Sniper role given the lore around Eberron Zilargo Gnomes. It would be nice to have some enchantment style control spells but it seems like a bit of a waste given I will not have anything else to cast. I plan to eventually take a few Wizard levels but not till Level 15 or 16 so pretty late to get Charm Person. Also no one else in the party has much enchantment magic going on.
Should I instead take the Conjuration Adept feat and lean into elemental magic?
Personally, I would go with Conjuration Adept. Even if the only Conjuration spells you ever used were Entangle (from the feat) and Web (on the Artificer spell list), you would have a great pair of control spells along with a nice boost to your Concentration to make sure the spells stick around as long as you need them.
Thanks - I would probably even use Conjure Animals as a persistent AoE even if I did not move it much. Some of my hesitancy is probably because another party member has conjure animals that refreshes on short rest via Potent Dragonmark and it seems kiinda lame to have two going at once. I could maybe flavor this characters version as more elemental-like but still irks me...
I might even use Conjure Elemental if a BBEG had a vulnerability... [How common are Mummy Lords or Treants?]
I'm considering Conjuration Adept for my artillerist, along with Magic Connoisseur.
I like that Conjuration adept gives me access to spells that aren't normally on my list, plus the boost to some con saves. And I like the free castings of two additional (wizard, in my case) spells granted by connoisseur! Tough choice!
Enchantment Adept seems too situational without other enchantment spells. Dissonant Whispers is the most generalist spell there. Now, Enthrall ups your stealth game if you're going for the sniper experience, so there is that, but it also eats your concentration. But it's pretty situational from there. Don't get me wrong, Hold Person and Dominate Beast are great spells - when you've got a suitable target for them. Modify Memory is super situational (although great fun when it matters). Bare minimum, I'd want to find a way to at least get something like Suggestion or Tasha's Hideous Laughter that is less limited in target.
I feel like Illusion Adept has a better stand-alone spell list, and also fits into the sneaky spellcaster role (with the same 'no components' cast). Unfortunately, AU's Uncertain Footing is the only illusion spell on the Artificer class list that would help up your stealth caster game, and it's merely okay. But the Illusion Adept feat has much more generalist spells available. Depending on your DM, Phantasmal Force cast from hiding may literally let you get away with murder, and both silent and major image are even more effective when no one sees you cast it. (Seeming is an 'everyone gets to infiltrate' spell. Hallucinatory Terrain is the most specialized of the spells on the list, but it's an amazing amount of fun with some creativity).

Thank you - this is good advice. I will look more carefully at the spell list.
