I've been thinking about running a oneshot where all the players are characters from the public domain. It's been fun thinking about potential builds, so I thought I'd post my initial ideas here and let anyone else chime in with any other ideas. Mostly just for fun!
Dorian Gray as an undying warlock (his patron is the portrait)
Ebeneezer Scrooge as an ancestral guardian barbarian (the ancestral guardians are the ghosts of christmas past, present, and future)
I don't recall, but Circle of the Land druids don't usually wildshape anyway IME. They use their Wildshape for an on-demand familiar or for extra spellslots or the new healing bloom ability.
The 1981 "Excalibur" movie, Merlin always wore some sort of metal akullcap. And druids were pretty serious about not wearing metal in the 1980's rules. So merlin was alway a wizard sorcerer to me
Hello all,
I've been thinking about running a oneshot where all the players are characters from the public domain.
Sherlock Holmes as an inquisitive rogue
Frankenstein as a reanimator artificer
What else?
Count of Monte Cristo as a Whispers Bard.
Beowulf as some kind of Fighter.
Hunchback of Notre Dame as a Grappling-focused Barbarian
Robin Hood as a Gloomstalker Ranger.
King Arthur as a Devotion Paladin
Merlin as a Circle of Land Druid
Zorro as a swashbuckler, naturally.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
Ughhh. All the easy ones are gone already.
Robinson Crusoe as a Human Circle of the Sea Druid.
Heyo! You can call me Link. Here’s a bit about me:
Roomba Knight, Architect of the Cataclysm, Foxy Lunar Archpriest. Dubbed The Fluffy Bowman by Golden. He/Him
Theatre Kid, Ravenclaw, bookworm, DM, Lego fanatic, mythology nerd, pedantic about spelling. I also love foxes, cats, otters, and red pandas!
I love K-pop Demon Hunters and Korean Mythology. If you want to ask me about something, send me a PM!
I try to keep the peace and be neutral most of the time…
I'm playing Ethan Hunt in a Keys from the Golden Vault Solo Campaign right now.
Daryl Dixon always a favourite.
Did Merlin ever wildshape?

Merlin uses shapeshifting magic in The Sword in the Stone, at least.
