I was toying around in the character builder, and realized my build was becoming a bit similiar to a Certain Warcraft character. Do you think this is a good fit, or have any suggestions that might make this build more powerful and still be in line with Arthas Menethil?
Arthas was a paladin, no problems there. The lich king? Oathbreaker paladin / necromancer multiclass and turn lich at level 20?
I could see a School of Necromancy Wizard working in there lore wise, but it might have a heavier emphasis on being learned than he actually was, as he more fell into his Necromatic powers than studied for them; but ironically, on the topic of becoming a Lich I don't think the Lich King while inhabiting Arthas was actually a Lich (unless the Crown\Frostmourne was a Phylactery)?
I do still think the Hexblade is a good fit lorewise though because of the Influence Ner'zhul had on him through Frostmourne and his Crown.
I can see the thematic synergy, but it is very MAD (Multiple Ability Dependent), Needing Strength, Charisma, Constitution, and Wisdom to work well. With Oathbreaker + Heblade, you only need Charisma, Constitution, and enough Strength to wear plate (Since you can make your attacks with your Cha Modifier).
The Oathbreaker Paladin already has a lot of Necromancy thrown in. I don't think you necessarily need to multiclass to become Arthas. The only thing missing is cold spells. If you were to multiclass, Warlock hexblade makes perfect sense. You swear fealty to a weapon... sounds like frostmourn. You get all the good necro spells at least once per day. Only need to worry about CHA, CON, and enough strength to wear your heavy armor. Although if you skimp out on strength too much you might want to take a level in warlock earlier.
