Hey all! I just purchased the Book of Ebon Tides for my DM to use in our next campaign, and I was really interested in trying the new Sorcerer subclass! The concept of being both a beacon of light and darkness sounds so compelling to play, but after looking at the actual subclass I'm a little confused on what it's trying to be? Is it supposed to be a melee-focused subclass for Sorcerer? Or does it basically require the Deep Magic book in order to have any actual use (I'm still kinda frustrated that the Deep Magic book isn't available on DndBeyond but my complaining isn't really going to help much).
