I’m playing in ToA and we’re currently level 9 and on level 3 of the tomb. My character is a 9th level necromancy wizard. I was wondering peoples opinion on how many slots I should dedicate to skeletons and zombie? I do have a pearl of power which gives me an extra 3rd level slot.
edit: However many you feel comfortable with. Personally, when I (shortly) played a necromancer, I would raise the dead at every opportunity. Ironically, I died.

Lol I think 12.5cr worth of monsters (not including there buffs they all receive) will do fine, I'll go with the first advice ;).
Normally in cities and towns, it would be very conspicuous to have an entire army of undead trailing behind you, but considering this is the tomb of annihilation, you're kind of in the middle of a jungle so the more zombies the better :-) But having said that, a horde of zombies and skeletons can become a nuisance in tight corridors and small chambers (of which there are many in the tomb) and actually hinder you and the rest of the party. So in my opinion, the number of undead you summon really depends where you are and what you are trying to accomplish.
P.S. using all of your spell slots to buff septimus is an interesting idea.... just whatever you do DO NOT use them on Box. i am positive he will end up killing the whole party with a fireball.

but it depends. if Arnold the independent zombie starts a communist revolution among the skeletons and sets up a workers union then you just added 12.5 cr to our boss fight

This is a very possible and likely outcome I’m going to be honest lol.

Yeah I would say that’s what I was doing for the most part, just curios if other people had opinions on it. Thanks for the advice! :)
