Alright, I will start off that I am not a stalker...yet. But I have to confess something.
I.Love.James.Haeck's.Writing!
This means the when I see new James Haeck writing, I get the same joy that star wars fans get when there is a spoiler trailer by George Lucas.
So when I saw that there were new Haeck articles on DDB, I fanboyed out like you would expect, squeeing and pumping my fist in the air. I thought he was done writing and then a New Testament appeared...or so I thought. Articles were published, but they were old articles with fresh new publication dates.
This made me sad. I thought that when DDB and Haeck separated, DDB would find a new shakespeare laureate (team?) and instead they just recycled old material. This made me sad for the new group of players who are reading outdated knowledge and tactics.
For example, one of the articles discusses Haeck's favorite starter adventure recommendations, listing the great Starter Kit amd Defiance in Phlan, BUT where is the Essentials Kit (My #1 fave) or Dragon Heist (My #3) by James Himself or any of the other Adventure League modules and/or Books?? The best starters are all from the first months of 5E? We have made nothing better to help new players since then? We have learned nothing from 5+ years?
DDB through Haeck also made lots of subclass videos that are serious quality or adventure of the week, But his class articles like "Cleric 101: A Beginner’s Guide to Playing the Divine" seems dated by having all of the Tasha's content very conspicuously absent. I am aware that writing the guides is partly great hype to upsell the books that the classes are found in. Are we not selling the new content on DDB? Should I seek elsewhere for Candlekeep updates and information and trailers and videos and excitement? Will that continue with later books?
This is going to get real dated when his Adventures are republished for "upcoming" books that have already come out like his solid Road to Baldur's Gate series or his Icewind Dale promo adventures that drew you in.
Haeck put out a lot of articles. Surely if one intern cannot handle that kind of workload, a small team could handle that by publishing one article a week per minion. If minions are too low on the totem pole....?
TLDR: Stop rehashing old news by just stirring them back to the top with new publish dates.
I know! Some of the articles are new too as they are highlighting stuff coming out in the Candle Keep book. It's quite confusing. Does he no longer work there or does he?

Hopefully it is just an temporary thing until they find someone (or a group of people) to pick up his workload, which is a big workload.
As an aside, I ran his Road to Baldur's Gate series, it was so much fun, I suggest that everyone try it.

He no longer works there, so the podcast with him coming out are pre recorded. Good stuff though.
