I mean, 5e is pretty old, 2021 will be its 7 year, given that 6e will be probaby out in 2, 4 years at most, given that I just begun into DnD (I joined Beyond waaaaay before i started playing) Im wondering if i just wait forthe new version to come out and then buy its sources or not giving a crap about it and buy the 5e PHB
Or 6e is going to be released a lot farther in the future? i just used the timespan between other editions to guess roughtly the time it may be released
No timeframe for 6E anywhere and there seems to a lot of legs for 5E. I'd say buy if you like 5E because there is no way to tell that even if a 6E is coming that it will be as good as 5E anyway.
The print versions are always good. Then if you don’t like the new edition, you still have the resources for this one. There’s still people playing 1e, after all. Plus, you can refer back to them if there was a mechanic or piece of lore you liked. It also seems unclear (to me at least) what will happen to the digital versions of the books if/when there’s a new edition, but the hard copies will last as long as you take care of them.
