Last Boss encounter in the bosses own lair our Mystic tried out their new Discipline "Mantle of Courage" and cast Aura of Victory. After a 2 hour slog against a Buffed Corpse Flower its lair and 6 Undead Shambling mounds the 7 person party with two 1 CR npcs left the encounter with only 2 PCs hurt, the 9th level rogue with half hit point and the 9th level bard with a whooping 1 point of damage. The mystic agreed to a nerf so I need help on this. The most obvious would be a number reduction but after review I think the issue is the resourceless refresh on the temp health and the range of the Aura. So my 1st draft nerf is bumping the initial Temp hp to 2+(2×psi points) then reducing the refresh to 1+(1×psi point temp hp). An aura range nerf to 20 foot radius. And a resource nerf from free to a Reaction. That in line with other 5th level spells or would this still haunt me. Thanks for any advice.
