So should Fey Teleportation have errata regarding the use of spell slots after first use? With the extra first level spell vs very underused language and disconnecting the race requirements I just can’t see anyone taking the feat from Xanathar’s anymore. To use misty step after first cast originally you would need to have that spell on your spell list already (wizard/sorcerer/warlock) that does not read the same to me anymore and the extra spell can be from any class list unless I have completely misread the new feat.
The Misty Step granted by Fey Teleportation is refreshed after a short rest. Not only that, you learn the spell so you can cast it with your spell slots regardless of your class. They went out of their way to exclusively say this with Fey Touched, but as far as I am aware it's the same for both feats.
Fey Touched's Misty Step on the other hand only refreshes after a long rest. So you get an extra spell, but you can only use both it and MS for free after a long rest, whereas with Fey Teleportation you can use MS after a short rest.
One cannot actually cast Fey Teleportation's Misty Step with class spell slots. ANy given class Spellcasting feature says "you can use spell slots to cast your [Class] spells", and Fey Teleportation's Misty Step doesn't count as a class spell. It's the same reason why class spell slots can't be used to cast species spells like a tiefling's Hellish Rebuke - that spell doesn't qualify as a class spell and can't be cast with class slots.
Fey-Touched overrides this, and frankly it serves as proof to me that Wizards is mostly fine with back-hacking that language into other spellcasty feats given how stupid strong Fey-Touched is, but RAW, Fey Teleportation can't use spell slots. One would take Teleportation if, as said, they want their Misty Step back on short rest - a not inconsiderable bonus for warlocks, fighters, or other short-rest based classes - and/or if they want the Sylvan language specifically. Fighters and monks specifically may like Fey Teleportation better, assuming they want the Charisma, since they ping off of short rests and don't have extra spell slots anyways. Elsewise yes, Fey-Touched is generally going to be much stronger.

Why you shouldn't start ANOTHER thread about DDB not giving away free redeems on your hardcopy book purchases.
Thinking of starting ANOTHER thread asking why Epic Boons haven't been implemented? Read this first to learn why you shouldn't!
True, my bad.
I think even for short rest classes, specifically Warlock, Fey touched is super attractive through the bonus spell on top of Misty Step.
