So as the title says this is my first Warlock and second ever character. Starting at level 3 we have now leveled up. Before I commit to anything I was hoping to get some insight as to what I should do and how I have done to start off with. ddb.ac/characters/48645393/nU0u6A Thanks for not jumping down my throat for being so new. I'm filling some what of a offensive/support role for my party which consists of 2 rangers, a paladin, a fighter, and a wizard. Thanks for your help in advance. Sorry if this is a commonly asked question.
Well assuming your Charisma isn’t already 20, take the ability score increase and put 2 points into Charisma. For spells, Darkness (assuming you took devil’s sight) is a good option, mirror image, misty step and invisibility are good options as well.
Which invocations did you take at level 2 and which boon did you take at level 3?
You probably don't want to take Darkness. It will blind all your party members within 30ft of you. I'm going to almost guarantee that this cause interparty conflict than it is worth, especially given that you are a new player. Not to mention that your party members will start keeping away from you in combat giving you no backup and, as a new player, you'll regret that.
As a fiendlock, you'll gravitate towards melee. I don't think Charisma is as important as others have suggested. You might want to go with Polearm Master.
As for spells, it is going to depend on your campaign, but Mirror Image is a good option and, if you don't have Hex already, you should get that.
Pufftuff to create an actual link go to the top toolbar of the posting editor. It's the sixth button from the right and is an image of a small chain link. Click on that icon and a small screen will pop up. Just copy and paste the url into the first line labeled url, then hit okay. I guarantee you people are asking about build information because you didn't actually create a link (which will display in bold blue lettering) and they're simply not seeing it in your first post.
As for the build, your stats are insane. You really can get away with whatever. I'd suggest going through the feats and finding ones that you think are interesting. Once you find some you can always ask us about which ones are better fits for a warlock.
As for spells I agree with Wren that Mirror Image would be a nice pickup. You don't have any defensive spells at your disposal so it would be a nice thing to add to your kit. If you're not into that then I suggest finding something that provides circumstantial utility because you already have a good mix of spells that will dominate the use of your spell slots.

Are you trying to set him up? Charisma should always be a priority and he should not gravitate towards melee unless he's a Hexblade, which he is not
Darkness is hit or miss. If he can place it so that he's in range and his party are not effected, then he can have advantage on every attack and his attack has disadvantage *if* they can guess his location.
i linked my character sheet above. I went through the process of leveling to 4 but my DM will allow me to make adjustments before our next session.
I took the ASI and went to 20 on my charisma. I took agonizing blast and Book of ancient secrets. Tome warlock
Well I clearly missed this. Absolutely nothing wrong with these choices. You could swap out the ASI for a feat since 18 charisma is fine for this level, but I would keep it because having your primary stat maxed out already is really nice.
Very solid invocation choices as well. Book of Ancient Secrets is one of my favorite invocations. No devil's sight means darkness is not really an option, but that is perfectly okay. You don't need it to play a successful warlock.

I disagree with you as I believe I've made clear. I'm not going to suggest that you are trying to set him up. That seems a bit overly personal. I'm really not in the mood to argue with you about our respective opinions.

Sorry about that, didn't mean to over react, I just don't see why anyone would play a Fiend Warlock in melee. Even the shield spells like Armor of Agathys and Fire shield work best as a deterrent for weaker melee attackers who may peel off and attack you. Not to mention your ranged spell attacks are at disadvantage when you have an enemy within 5 feet
