Everyone is going to choose something different, so I won't ask what is the best feat...no two locks are the same.
I've been thinking of taking Eldritch Initiate feat so I could get Agonizing Blast at 1st level. AG is required for any blaster...might as well get this now, and free up a slot at 2nd. this would allow for two invocations with the third reserved for my pact magic.
But I could see Medium Armor Mastery, Warcaster, Spell Sniper...pretty much anything. Like I said above, Locks are way too different for a best feat...What would you take for the genie lock?
Lucky is the easy one. Other than that, Fey Touched with Bless for your first level spell or Telekinetic so you’d have something to do with your bonus action are both good choices.

Good question. Unfortunately, while I love warlocks, my warlock builds are so varied that I couldn't settle on a single feat.
I've got five "live" builds that are variant human and majority warlock (it's a really nice combo.) With these, the feats I chose for them are:
Magic Initiate (Sorcerer) - for a Sorc 1/Warlock X build, the feat was more for story reasons than anything; it's the one I'm playing IRL now
Eldritch Adept (Devil's Sight) - for a Fighter 3/Warlock X... the concept was basically, Riddick as a hexblade Resilient (CON) - Straight tomelock, but it made sense for the build Polearm Master - for a Warlock X/Fighter 3 that was a hexblade specializing with polearms War Caster - full hexblade, my first attempt at a gish-type
What I'll add though, is that if the feat I'm taking for this combo is Eldritch Adept, there are only three invocations I'd even consider: Eldritch Mind, Devil's Sight or Agonizing Blast... and considering most warlocks start with at least a +3 in CHA, Agonizing Blast is almost unnecessary overkill at first level.

Pact matters. Inspiring Leader is extra great if you're Pact of the Chain - and if you're anything that isn't Pact of the Tome, Ritual Caster can be excellent. Race also matters - I know you said Variant Human, but Tasha's Custom Lineage is the same thing but better, and radically changes the math.
Anyway. I'd take Fey Touched (Charisma, Hex). Lets me start with Charisma 16 Constitution 16 Dexterity 16, Hex doesn't cost me a spell known, I also know Misty Step, and I get an extra free cast of Misty Step and Hex 1/long rest. I have all manner of use for that. I'd be planning on going Tomepact later.
Honestly. I know your focused on getting Feats out of it. But There's a very decent chance I'm going to dump Variant Human and Pick another Race instead.
The Reason for this is that when you don't take Variant Human or Custom Lineage there are a number of races that Get some unique racial powers that cannot simply be copied by getting class abilities or feats later. So I'm going to want those unique powers because I'm going to be able to pick up a feat or two later anyway.
I would have taken another race than Variant Human. I'm a big sucker for a nice Aasimar warlock, or maybe a tiefling for good measure.
But if we're talking feats I would also go for something like Fey touched. I could also see Telekinetic being useful at times, such as collecting your magic lamp when needed, or serving tea when you hang out in your portable home hidden inside a bush at night. Besides, more charisma is never a bad thing.
My character is a Stage Magician. I took Skill Expert: Persuasion, Deception, Charisma. I'm only level 5 but already have +7 Deception, +7 Performance, +10 Persuasion, +6 Sleight of Hand as a result.
Fey touched with bless or hex is always a good choice. It helps flesh out a character since you get to explain how the fey interacted with you to get the power. It provides an extra hex or bless every long rest and you should have no problem using that most days. Misty step is really great as well. Also +1 to Cha. Its kind of perfect for most warlocks unless you don't want to mess up your character history with the fey.
If you are allowed the new dragon based feats are all very good. Chromatic dragon gives you a type of absorb elements that doesn't use spell slots. Gem Dragon gives you a +1 to Cha and force based rebuke damage. The metallic dragon gives cure wounds, and a reaction that works a bit like the shield spell. Warlocks don't always have a very clogged reaction so all of these are interesting additions. But they are UA.

Professional computer geek
I picked Crusher to get an extra 5 feet of push on my Dao warlock.
This.

Metamagic feat.
If I took Dao, probably crusher. But resilient con, spell sniper, fey touched all good options.
Prodigy. My go to for Variant Humans 1st level.

1. Lucky 2. Fey Touched. 3 Alert. These are all great starting feats...

I'll throw Gunner in as a choice. +1 DEX and no disadvantage for being close.
