Hello! I’ve been tinkering with an idea for a while and was looking for some feedback!
The general idea is a competition style one shot where all the players are warlocks, but each has a different patron. The goal of the competition is to convince one very spoiled but very prolific warlock to be to choose their patron to make a pact with.
I was planning to run it as a cross between your typical tournament and the bachelor (it will be a comedic leaning one shot). I figured there would be puzzles and some surprise fights, but I want challenges that would target warlock skills specifically. Any ideas are welcome!

so basically this potential warlock-bachelor is one who has all the arcane knowledge / secrets that a warlock needs to cast their spells, but not the magical fuel/ spell slots they need to cast them (as that is where the patron come in)? Has this warlock had a patron before (many patrons even?), or would this be the first one? As an NPC, would this warlock still have some capacity for spellcasting without the power source that is a patron or could he perhaps arrange magical arenas and stuff that you need to make the tournament cool? Perhaps this NPC warlock currently has a patron and is only pretending to have left their service in order to spy on the machinations of other patrons and potentially kill their servants?
There is a lot of cool shit you could do with this, potentially more than what is feasable in a "true" one-shot that is actually one session long
