So my friends and I are doing a one-shot, and all of our characters are level 5. I’m playing a warlock for the first time, and I just want a little bit of clarification on known spells.
I do know that any spell you cast, it is cast at max level for whatever your warlock level is (level 5 warlock casts spells at 3rd level). It also says that I know six spells, and that’s the part I’m not sure about. Is it a case of I only know six spells and the spells I have prepared can be switched out on rest? Or do I know all the spells, have six in the batter’s box, and then two prepared?
And also what level do those spells have to be? Can I only know a certain amount of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level spells within that six? Or do I get to choose what spells I know within the level boundaries, maxing out at six? And can I change out a known spell for a different one and forget the old one?

Makes sense to me! Thanks for the insight
