i recently made a new character but i do not know how to get the patron i wanted. it shal only let me set it up with the fiend and i wish to have umberlee as my patron although i cannot find the campaign book that would allow me to do this and cannot homebrew it. i am new to dnd and would love help if anyone can. thank you!
Fiend is the only free option. If you want a different patron, you need to purchase it. Either the subclass individually, or the book in which the subclass appears.
As far as Umberlee, typically, gods don't use warlocks; gods have clerics. Warlocks are created through a pact with a powerful, though not divine being. And the various pacts as written do not necessarily correspond to any gods in any worlds. (That said, the obvious choice for Umberlee would be The Fathomless). Either way, it's best to ask your DM about how they handle it in their game world. They might be OK with you having a god as a patron. And it's usually best to work with your DM about your relationship with your patron, no matter which one you take.
