My read on this is that it takes an action to get Invisibility while in dim light or darkness. But you lose it if you move or take an action or a reaction.
I can maybe see a Warlock holding an action to only move when the guard is looking the opposite direction or something, but this just seems like a strictly inferior version of the Invisibility spell in every single way. Also, Invisibility is not the same thing as hiding, so you still need to Hide in order to be really undetectable. Meaning a Rogue multi-class or starting as a (Volo's) Goblin. Is this actually worth an Invocation? How is this better than just getting the Shadow-touched Feat? Am I missing something here?
I wouldn't bother with that invocation myself. If wanted to hide, maybe unlimited uses of silent image or unlimited uses or disguise self would come in handy more frequently and for more than just hiding.
