I'm currently creating a new Half Elf. he's an archfey pact of the tome warlock with a first level in Fighter for proficiancies. I chose the Guild artisan Background to create the theme of a Spellsword Alchemist.
I read something on here about an Archfey Kipin Patron. And since Owls are supposed Wise animals I went with the theme.
What I'm struggling with is the Relation between my Character and the Patron, and what the Patron could want in return.
With an Archfey? It could be anything. The most obvious thing would be potions, especially ones that affect the mind. A Love Potion for example, something that the character can try to create but never succeed. Their Patron might want a type of alcoholic drink that tastes good. Their Patron might want really pretty paintings of places their character goes. Fey are whimsical creatures, even the best of them. What an Archfey would want could want and what it wants to do with it staggers the imagination.
Have their Patron ask for a Black Rose. Is that the legendary Black Lotus? Once the character has it, will they give it up? It could be the key ingredient to all kinds of alchemical things, maybe part of the Philosopher's Stone that turns lead into gold. It could be the key to one of the doors in Sigil, and lead straight to their Patron's front door.
How the Patron and the character interact is purely in the area of roleplay.
What is a "Archfey Kipin Patron". That might help us give some inspiration.
I would tend to believe that if your patron is a wise, and probably ancient fey, your patronage is probably some part of a subtle plan...maybe not just whimsy. Perhaps even a noble plan?
I believe that was meant to be "Kingpin" As in the boss of the Thieves Guild, or Daredevil's nemesis in Marvel comics. I honestly don't have any idea what the entire sentence the word "kipin" has to do with anything
A bit of a shy explanation on my part. A "Kipine" is a large Owl like being with antlers. The one I saw on here is supposed to be an Owlbear Mutation.
If that's its true Form or just the one it appears in is left for interpretation. Archfeys are generally very interesting in my opinion, appearing in many different shapes.
I was thinking along the lines of a great Librarian, similar to the Owl Spirit from Avatar the last Airbender. By now I've come up with the idea that the Archfey hasn't really gathered any Knowledge on Alchemy and wants to change that. It does seem a bit Boring and not very interactive though.

With this in mind. It could be a matter of trying to aquire certain kinds of items, knowledge, access to things, or even access to the material plane that the Archfey is after and using the Warlock to either procure, achieve, or build towards in some way, even if that way seems somewhat esoteric.
