Genie's Wrath Glitch?

When I roll dmg with a weapon Genie's Wrath applies correctly (proficiency bonus once per turn). However when I roll a cantrip it applies with dice rolls instead of a flat +3.(currently lvl 5) Sorcerous burst specifically keeps adding 2d8 thunder dmg to my 2d8 chromatic damage. I do have to roll to hit before clicking the damage or it wrath wont apply at all. Does anyone know how to correct this, or is it a glitch outside of my sheet alone? I can't imagine it's supposed top let me do so much dmg with a cantrip at level 5.
