So been playing around with my next character build. First yes it will go to lvl 20. Now originally I was just gonna hexblade all the way to 20 sword and shield. Then I said nah let's do pally Vengeance to 3 or 6 then. Then said hey why not college of swords 3 as well? So in the end Hexblade 11/Vengeance 6/ swords 3. Is this even worth the effort? Or just stick with hexblade 14/Vengeance 6? And what ungodly order should I even do this!? Oh and I'd be choosing pact of the blade. Most likely longsword and shield or shortsword and shield. And my race sis scourge aasimar with the haunted one background. (not gonna be the typical "dark" warlock).
If you think of going all the way to level 6, just pick Oath of the Ancients and take it to 7. Half on all magic damage + your Cha bonus to every save makes you the bane of any caster. I vote Warlock 2/OotA Paladin 7/Bard X or maybe grabbing Warlock 3 so you can use Polearm mastery stuff scalling on your Charisma. Starting in paladin means that you can have Heavy armor proficiency, which only needs 13 Str to be half decent and 15 for the Full Plate, which lets you focus on Con/Cha afterwards. Medium Armor only needs 14 to be good, but you don't get as much AC at the top end anyway. If you just plan to Sword and Board though, Pact of the Blade is a dubious choice over just taking Warcaster as a feat, since the invocation to let you treat it as a spellcasting focus is the only useful thing you'd be getting out of it. Pact of the Tome gives you access to all the ritual spell utility which can end up being quite a bit if you just get a few scrolls/wizard spellbooks.

Taking feats is unknown right now since we haven't rolled stats yet. So if I can afford to take feats war aster is top priority. Vengeance fits better with my backstory I think but I'll take a second look at ancients, it might work as well. Definitely want a more up front hexblade and be able to just summon my weapon. Pretty much just walk around with a shield on my back and bam! Sword in hand lol

I would say take 14 warlock and 3 pal/bard.

With this build, why bother with so many Warlock levels? Gasp! Warlock 1, Pally 6, and Bard 14. Use those Bard spell slots to full your smites.
I was originally thinking that but that aura of protection seems worth it (idk if it actually is)
I want to be able summon my weapon so hexblade 1 for this character isn't enough, I guess I could just to 3lvls of hexblade maybe
In that case, I'd stop Pally at 3 to maximizing your smites.

That aura seems too good to pass up though, never played pally so idk it might not be worth it
